The only game that I played that GS gave a ten was OoT.
And OoT does not deserve a ten. It has quite a few flaws.
Either get rid of 10 as a rating possibility or add .1 to any game that gets above a 9. Then it won't change the whole  A, AA, AAA thing thats goes on here, yet still makes it possible to actually give a game a 10. Say the .1 stands for artistic merit, say it stands for whatever I don't care just figure out something or don't give 10's they are a joke.
They all deserved 10's
Soul Caliber---great weapon fighting mechanics in an arcade looking home console
Zelda--THE first true immersive adventure game
THPS3--the absolute perfection of the videogame formÂ
Chrono Cross--only because the other three were right. I have it, but got lost in the shuffle. Only played maybe 5 hours:(
The ONE glaring omission, but only because it was a few months before GS. Super Mario 64. That single game in THE reason games are what they are now.
But can you honestly say all of those games were the best in EVERY SINGLE field of their genre including sound, graphics, tilt, value, etc? They all deserved 10's

Maybe. Like I said, not enough hours into CC to say for sure, but; all the others are definate. THPS3 is the toughest to defend, but it was the first to perfect the...(here is when it try)...inherent simplicity found in complex gameplay. Tony Hawk 1 & 2 were never simple, Skater 3 made the first two seem unfinished. I enjoyed 4, but it added nothing important. All others since are inferior copies.
Of the 4 Games that recieved a 10/10 on Gamespot, which one is LEAST deserving of that score? I know that all you Nintendo haters will be going, "OMG TEH ZELDA OoT!!". :(
But for me, it was definitely Chrono Cross. For one thing, the whole story sucked. It's a pure embarrassment to Chrono Trigger. If Chrono Trigger shows up on the VC, GS better give it a 10 and bring Chrono Cross to 8.5 IMO.
I want to see a reasoning for your choice, as well. If you're just going to burst into an angry rage and make fun of a game that Sheep like, then don't. If you want to debate what was least deserving of a 10, then post here. This is SW, and we should be debating, not pulling each other's hair and acting like 4-year olds.

Sorry, Chono Cross was a good game but yes it was embarassment to the greatest game on a gaming platform.
Chrono Cross is a 10 but CT would have been a 12/10. AAAAAA. It just proves how good CT is when its crappy sequel still scores a 10.
CT - 12/10
FFII - 11.1/10
FFIII - 11/10
Seiken Densetsu 3 - 10.9 / 10
Earthbound - 10.3 / 10
Zelda LTTP - 11/10
Super Metroid - 11/10
Neways, I'm an SNES fanboy so yes, these games would equate to those ratings in my books.

Personally I don't think any game should really get a 10.TeufelhuhnThat's the most sane thing I've heard out of all these posts.
Tony Hawk is the obvious choice but I don't feel like Soul Calibur deserved the 10. And I am the biggest Namco fan here. SC is certainly AAA worthy, but it's not perfect. TekkenMaster606
I really dislike the concept of a "ten". Its the equiavlent of saying "Comparitavely speaking, it does better in every single field than every other game of the same genre." I just find that a little far fetched to believe there is one perfect game.Vandalvideo
Personally I don't think any game should really get a 10.TeufelhuhnI somewhat agree. Still, I think that if a reviewer should not in any way rate a certain game ten according to his opinion, then no game whatsoever should receive ten in any category in its review. The reason for that is obvious really.
