I've kept all of my games and systems, so none.
I sold a Neo Geo AES console a couple of months ago for $250. I want it back so bad it hurts. The biggest reason I sold it is because AES cartridges are so damn expensive. It's far cheaper to collect for the CD console. But the collector in me wants the console back. I also sold Baseball Stars 2 for $150. I see Windjammers being sold on ebay and I pretty much have to pull my self from the computer to keep from buying it. And it's generally a $600+ game. Not to mention I have the CD version already.
Video game collecting is a serious sickness.
Gamecube, N64...
If you have one of the older Wii models its also a Gamecube. Selling an N64 felt quite painful to me.
These threads pick some festering scabs for me... None more so than when I sold my launch day SNES and 30+ carts for 300 bucks, so I could buy a n64 and zero games (because they were 100 bucks a pop).
Three months after I sold the Snes, I sold the n64 because it was lame and I wanted to learn guitar... The n64 was sold and a black sparkly Hamer Slammer series guitar was born.
I ended that gen rebuying a pink n64 and a bunch of cheap games.... Pretty good console, but couldn't hold the Snes's dirty jock.
Never got rid of a console before, but the X1 may be my first. For some reason my party chat doesn't work, my games keep freezing then rebooting, and the console is on occassion not letting me start my games and it gives me a message like an error occured while trying to launch the game. So this may be my first console I ever trade and I don't know if I'll regret it, but I'm sure I'll regret it more if I throw the thing against the wall because it is infuriating messing with it at times.

Unless you want Game Boy Player.
to get a DS (the first fat DS) i traded in my GBA and a heap of games which included windwaker and metroid prime.
trading in the GBA was fine of course as the DS had full BC with the system. but there is a special place in stupid land reserved for people who trade in metroid prime AND windwaker for something. the population is currently me :(. it was the special edition that came with the OOT and MM disc as well. what was i thinking?
thankfully i managed to get prime back for a fiver (oddly enough i think it was the copy i traded in :P).
now i have WW HD and i also have the trilogy for the wiiu. I wont be doing that again.
thats it though (and pretty terrible). i dont tend to trade in games and systems. when i do trade in a system its only when a new system fully supports running games from the old system (so i dont need my wii any more for example but i will be holding on to my PS3).
Back when I was in middle school I used to trade N64/PS1 games with the other kids, and for some reason I was dumb enough to trade my Diddy Kong Racing game for something that I don't remember... I really missed that game dearly but I finally bought DKR again at a used game store a few months ago. Playing that game again for the first time in over 15 years felt very cathartic and it made me really happy to finally own a relic from my childhood again.
I also traded in my Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion games and I still haven't replaced them. At least I was smart enough to keep the rest of my GameCube games, still have my valuable copies of MGS Twin Snakes and Mega Man X Collection.
That being said tho, I sold my 360 with all my games to some guy on craigslist last year and I don't regret it at all. Every once in a while I wax nostalgic to play some Dead Rising, but I know it ain't worth buying a 360 again.
I also sold all my Rock Band stuff to someone else on craigslist and I couldn't have been happier to finally get all that junk out my room.
I usually sell my old stuff. Was really mad I sold my snes but having Wii made up for that since I could purchase the old games from the store.
Recently im mad I gave up my ps3 to my nephew. Wish I held onto it so I could have traded it in for a PS4(Bloodborne really peaked my interest).
sold my collection of 16 consoles some were launch consoles I stood in line for for hours and hours..sold my games..i had about 1500 games. controllers, steering wheels, everything you could imagine. I now only have my launch Xbox and a few games..sometimes i care, sometimes i dont. I have pretty much everything playable on my pc now so i guess its ok..
Honestly, just my Gameboy Advance SP. My mom got rid of both my NES and SNES. I wish I had those back, but it was my mom who got rid of them not me.
There rest: N64, PS1, GameCube, PS2, I didnt really care about those to be honest.
I still have my PSP (IDK why) and I plan on keeping my PS3 and any following systems forever (so my kids can see them and play them).
I've kept all my PS3 games.
Only system I've owned that I don't have anymore is the PS1, and that's because I have no clue where the thing went. I don't remember selling it but I don't think I gave it away either. I have a PS3 so it's not too much of a loss, though I wish I had all the games that I had for it back too (again, no clue where they went).
I sell games all the time though. For a while I liked to collect them, but now I have less and less time to play games and so I don't really pretend like I'm gonna go back and finish something like SOCOM anymore. Rather just get the few bucks for it and use that towards something I'm actually gonna spend time on.
Really regret selling my mario games and ds games . At the times I was paid accordingly and fairly price for its current value. Some games included super smash bros. Mario kart, pokemon xd, coliseum, skies of arcadia, wind waker, starfox, paper mario. My old GPA and ds with Phantom hourglass and other ds, gba, and GC games. I did it for money when I was 17-18, never was an avid gamer. Only probably beat 50% of games I played. Now, at 22 I enjoy video more than I did at the time??
This is exactly why I don't sell my systems or games. I always entertain the possibility of going back and playing the old games on the old systems.
You must not be married because sooner or later, the old battle axe will make you get rid of them to make room for her stuff. ;)
My launch Atari 2600
Genesis with Sega CD... gave it to my son and he traded it in when he got the PS1
Intellivision
Bally Astrocade.
Eh, if I gave it more thought there would be others I think but that a do for now.
I regretted selling all of the old consoles that I grew up with: NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, Dreamcast, Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube.
There was a time when I foolishly thought that I would just use emulation to play the old games that I love so I sold my old consoles, but then I realized that emulation is just not the same as playing on original hardware, so I ended up rebuying my old consoles and it feels so much better to play on original hardware again.
Lesson learned, I'm never getting rid of any of my consoles ever again.
Playstation 3, just passed it along to my nephew. Miss playing Motorstorm, Twisted Metal, Resistance Co-op/multiplayer.
So my SNES with about 30 games just kinda vanished, either I lent it to someone and forgot, or my parents chucked it. I big time regret losing track of it. I even had the multi-tap!
My N64 I also loaned to someone and then forgot who, derp. Oh well, I only had like 5 games for that thing.
My PSX died, so I chucked the entire rickety CD stand plus all my PSX games straight into a trash dumpster when I moved. TBH I don't really care, I can't see myself putting up with those load times ever again just to play old titles. Would much rather emulate.
I still have my Blu Ray play.... er.... I mean PS3, as well as my PS2.
I haven't sold any except for the 360 that I had. And let me tell you, I don't regret it one bit. Piece of garbage.
I thought this thread look mighty familiar, I still see my post and it's been a year lol.
My biggest regret was donating my SNES to an Orphanage for kids decades ago but in another way, I just hope those kids had fun with my system back then. But luckily today, there's always remasters/remakes to play those games again.
Yep, that still hunts me more like.
Master System for sure, back then it was seen as the cheap alternative to the Genesis, with hindsight it was probably the best 8 bit machine around.
Sega (in all their wisdom) have mostly cast it's games to oblivion. Many excellent games even at the time (Master Of Darkness) were exclusively released in Europe, others when the system was discontinued in many regions.
Didn't even realize this was an old thread...lol. I tend to be a moron a lot in terms of materialistic things. I tend to buy something, play with it for a few months or so then get rid of it for something else, looking back, I wish I wouldn't have got rid of my SNES or my original Playstation 1. The only thing I have left is probably The Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy VII, & Final Fantasy IX black label with case & instruction booklet...
Even now, I got the Xbox One S as a gift from my girl for my Birthday last year in October, and I'm contemplating selling it for a Pro. Figured I can play some exclusives I've missed out on, and scoop up a Scorpio when it releases...
