How are "The Crew" and "Kirby's Triple Deluxe" dumb titles?

Bravely Default is actually a really cool name if you play the game- it essentially describes the two primary mechanics of the game within the title.

Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire are pretty goddamn dumb. Ruby and Sapphire? Great. Alpha and Omega? Badass as ****. OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire? What the ****, Nintendo. At least they're not as bad as HeartGold and SoulSilver, though.

Kirby Triple Deluxe, while dumb, at least falls within the naming conventions of its series so there is that. Ar Nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star and Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky? Wordy but the titles are sound, especially Atelier Escha and Logy. Basement Crawl is simple and pretty descriptive, I don't see the problem with it. The Crew and Wargame are just unimaginative. I say the worst one of those is Fairy Fencer F. What exactly is that supposed to be?

Fairy Fencer F apparently is because the characters are called fencers and they fight using weapons called (containing?) fairies.

Actually you're right, I take it back, I didn't see what is the worst title on that list before.

For every Dark Souls there are at least a dozen of these. Reminds me why I don't play Japanese games.

I don't think any of those titles are bad. I still think Rise of the Tomb Raider is the worst possible title for any game really.

The worst of that list is Constant C. What the **** does that title even mean in the context of gaming? Fairy Fencer at least gives you something that will inevitably be related to the plot. The hell does Constant C tell you about anything?

Constant C actually made me think of Super C first.

"the crew" is really low brow and insulting to the intelligence of all gamers. It's also generic and lazy, and it panders to the lowest denomination.

I don't really understand why Wargame: Red Dragon is on there. The franchise name is "Wargame", as it's a modern military RTS, and the "Red Dragon" part just lets you know they introduced China as an additional faction in their fictional war.

Sure, "Wargame" as a name is a little uninspired, but it sort of fits a RTS. and at least it uses real words and makes sense...

Kind of mean to put it on a list with crap like "Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1".

The only one I laughed at is Among the Sleep.

It's not the most prolific title by any stretch, but actually worse than most on that list?? (That includes Fairy Fencer F and Constant C) Seriously???? :|

Rise of the Tomb Raider makes me cringe. Fairy Fencer F sounds dumb, but I bet the game itself is all about dumb stuff.

That's the worst of all time.

I prefer "Flying Fairy". Not sure why they made it so long in the Western version, it's a lot more effective when it's short.

Did Activison pay these idiots enough to not have Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on there? Or, did EA pay them enough to not have Battlefield Hardline included? I know this is GameInformer, but a lot of the picks for this are pretty silly.

Still i dont get why wargame red dragon is a stupid name ? Wargame is the franchise name and red dragon is because they introduced China. Sure you can call it cliche but i dont get why is stupid

Wargame is a pretty stupid name for a military RTS. Thats like calling a game Shooting Game or Action Game.

It's probably far fetched, but looking at titles like "Constant C", I actually do suspect that a lot of the japanese titles are alluding to programming conventions etc.

@MlauTheDaft: Couple of errors there. In the fields, invalid variable name (white space), and in the constructor and method, there is an undeclared identifier (now there isn't white space) :P

I don't see the fuss over the Kirby: Triple Deluxe name. The Pokemon names are nonsensical though, now that it's actually been pointed out.

After carefully considering everything, I lean more towards your theory ;)

Anyway, the japanese really like messing with syntax and weird grammar in their titles and sometimes, it sort of does "smell" like code. I just like to think that these titles are a mix of cleverness and engrish :)

If you look for a certain pattern, you can often see it, even if it's not there of course. Suppose it's best to take my brand of high brow stupidity with a grain of salt.
