Arguments which game is better in loose terms without much use of logic or technical analysis is quite common in Gamespot forums

Emotion rules Gamespot users

Very few use measurement to tell what is better

There been discussions which game has the best graphics, gameplay.etc

But what game from today has the most content of ALL games?

In technical, mathematical measurement of gigabytes, not what you ''feel'' like is the biggest or heaviest game

So whats the heaviest game of all today together with current updates (50GB,40GB.etc) ?

@l-lord: I'll check. Base game is about 60 gb and each DLC is 6 gb? I'll check the total load at the end.

Battlefield 4? Base game is not even close to being 60 GB.

The correct answer is, of course, Final Fantasy XIII. The huge majority of it is video files, though. Pretty much doubled in size because they didn't offer Japanese language video as a separate download but bundled it all in, even though a lot of people would just go with English.

Size means little in an age of unlimited broadband and dirt-priced TB storage drives, unless you are on console with either proprietary drive or lack the know-how of replacing the default storage.

If we go by that logic, then Minecraft would be the winner. In any game world, more of the world is procedurally generated as more of it is explored. Any world map has a limit of 921,600,000,000,000,000 blocks, or 409.27261579781770706 Petabytes. There is further no limit on the number of worlds a player may create. Ergo, Minecraft is infinite in size.

Decided to see if anything topped Final Fantasy XIII. The flight simulator X-Plane 10 apparently requires 80GB.

Think that's crazy, if you wanted all the DLC for Train Simulator 2015, it would set you back approximately $4,000.

@GhoX: I don't live in a developed nation, but I do know that data caps do exist even in several of those, so it's hardly the "worst" if you have unlimited data as a common thing.

@Kuromino: I wouldn't even call that a video game, but I suppose it technically is. We have a winner.

I thought about saying Minecraft but imo a lot of it isn't a game. I know content is content but so much of it is just created structures and whatnot. Not dissing it, but there's no structured gameplay a lot of the times.

I didn't really bring it up, but size doesn't equate to content.

Gonna throw the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing into the mix.

I get 150gb of data with my cable internet a month. These large 50gb+ eat that up. Then everytime you turn a system or game on it needs updated. Plus watch a Netflix show or two and bam data gone.

You think you have it bad? Out here in the countryside of Portugal I cap at 500kb/s like it's 1999.

I least there's no bandwidth cap.

Buy disc copies then...

On PC you can usually get a boxed copy for cheaper than the game is on Steam and boxed copy of Xbone/PS4 games are universally cheaper than downloads.

Getting a physical copy means little when so many games need large updates day 1.

It truly amazes me how far gaming has come in the 28 years I've been playing. A game going from taking a few KB to GBs of data.

@bobbetybob: I have been mostly. Pc of course is near impossible to get phyiscal copies and both my laptops don't even have dvd drive anymore would need usb. It's just funny how they are pushing for digital and yet a lot of ISPs have caps. Both my cable and my only other option ATT DSL have caps.

Halo Collection fills up the entire Blu-ray (50GB) and has an additional 20GB download, but that's four games in one.

Yeah that does suck, I don't think we're as bad in the UK, there's still some services with caps but you don't need to pay much extra to get unlimited.

PC shouldn't be that hard to find physical copies for but I suppose it depends if you buy more indie games or AAA ones because yeah the indie games almost never get a boxed retail release.

i think data caps are common only in NA considering i lived in 3 countries in EU and where i live now ( Cyprus ) even though internet providers are shitty data caps are long gone while in UK and Greece ( that i know of ) they are non-existant

i hope at least that is kbytes and kbits. Same situation here in Cyprus. I cap at 500kbytes /4mbits but at least no data caps ( and getting higher speeds is quite expensive )
