I enjoy playing games like BF Bad Company 2 and BF3 on my PC.

I don’t have an HD monitor but it’s LED.

My Framespersec. are beasting above 80fps almost all the time.

It just looks so much smoother and better.

Also I hate big screens.

21-27 inch are the best for me at least.

PC monitors are what I would use on any gaming system.

I’m planning on buying one of those BenQ or Asus 144hz 3D compatible 1440p screens but they cost like 300 to 400$.

I personally don’t know why all the hype over 720p and 1080p.

1080P native and 1080p upscaled barely has a difference. If not even a difference.

Just play the games.

What you really should worry about is not the specs of your consoles but in which direction the company is moving and wether or not they’re ways should change.

If MS fails then they will look at Sony’s ways and learn from them.

If Sony fails then they will look at MS ways and learn from their ways.

I could only hope the best for both these companies.

If one falls then the gaming industry could be in shambles.

To much money is at risk if so.

Also choose the console that has the exclusives you would want to play.

I know tons of people think that System Wars is a place where you troll and just bash other systems for the fun of it.

It was never like this.

I tend to see people trying to make some good topics but it ends up in a waste of time because now he has to fight off all those fanboys off.

No sense.

This is also why GameSpot is becoming worse.

At least the moderators are doing their best to keep everything in order.

But sadly they are outmatched in the System Wars forum.

Anyways.

Do you prefer FPS over Resolution.

I'd rather have a gorgeous game locked at 30FPS and not worry about it dipping frames then having an erratic framerate. But that's just me. As for resolution, doesn't really mean anything to me. As long as it's not 480.

You should get a 120Hz monitor. I'll never go back to 60.

I'll get a 4K display when they drop in price and have 120Hz(or higher) versions.

Couldnt care less about 720/1080p if the game is fun with a solid frame rate and doesnt glitch/break im satisfied.

Assassins Creed BF is a very impressive example of a large open world, pretty looking with a consistent FR, my favourite next gen title at the moment.

there is no 600hz plasma, that's just a marketing term. It's a lie just like 120hz TV's. Both are stuck at 60hz and in the case of LCD, the 120hz or 240hz it's just a post-process which adds insane amounts of latency by duplicating frames in hopes of lowering blur.

Plasmas might have less blur and judder but LCD's have lower latency. But at the end if you want higher native hz the only way is to buy a gaming monitor because TV's are all 60hz.

I probably would need to if I wanted to run games at 120fps with a 4K display. Unless I win the lottery that is.

60 is good enough for 1080p anything above 60 is a bonus. 30fps looks extremely juddery at 1080p so I would assume higher resolutions need higher frame rates to look nice. as for 80fps I'd rather have vsync.

I have a PC mine is connected to a 1080p 120mhz led TV,also watching 720p movies vs 1080p quite clear show the difference..

But let me ask you this how do you know.? all the gaming you do is 720p you don't have a PS4 to compare.

By the way i own Wipeout which is 1080p native on PS3,and you can see the difference quite clear if you set it to 720p,i have on HDTV since they basically started dude not a new view on this.

Hell his whole argument was silly don't care about resolution care about frames, then he should not play BF4 since is higher resolution on PS4 and like 10 FPS faster across the board also on PS4.

You'll notice 60fps in high action games. 30fps is adequate, but 60fps is king. Erratic framerate is a matter of optimization.

I prefer 1080p/30FPS over 720p/60FPS, that's for sure. And I don't mind if a game is lower than 1080p, as long as it's got a solid frame rate and the details are cranked up (ie. Ryse).

For me, framerates in the upper 30's to 40's is adequate enough. Usually, the lows are right near 30fps. If I get 60fps as with a number of games, I wouldn't mind.

It depends on the game. BF4 running at 144fps synce with my 144Hz monitor is a sight to behold and is incredibly smooth. It's also crazy how much it improves how you play having that 1ms response time and non jittery camera panning

But in some other games I like to game on my other monitor at 60fps where colours are richer, blacks are deeper and the overall image is crisper.

I hate gaming lower than 60fps though

Frame Rate? The eye can't tell the difference above 30 FPS. Might as well use that extra processing power for pretty graphics with FXAA

Then there's something wrong with your eyes.

...yes that's the issue here

@acp_45:

Weird post.

While I will admit that a lot of what you wrote makes sense, the format is way off. It almost looks like you were just listing things that popped into your head, like you were making bullet points without the bullet points. Also, you are all over the damn place lol.

The real issue is LCD, not really Frames per Second.

With a great Plasma everything is smooth all the time

Indeed, it is king, the frame rate is the most important aspect of a video game.

the eye can't, but the hands most certainly can. it's literally twice as hard to bunnyhop and maintain bunnyhopping speed at 60 FPS as opposed to 100+ in team fortress classic.

I still use an NEC XM29 for most of my mp FPS and twitch based games.

In the PC world you can have both framerate and resolution provided you have the right hardware. But console wise, at least on the Xbox One, there's a trade off somewhere and I'll trade resolution every single time over framerate. Having played the 720 upscaled Dead Rising 3 and Ryse 900p, that's fine for me so long as the game is actually really good and the framerate is solid.

Ok but we're not talking about movies El Tormented. What's your GPU?

I have a true gaming PC El Tormented. All the gaming I do is on my PC which is MAX on Ultra setting with any game I choose.

Yes I agree, silly argument. I just like giving you a hard time.

Yeah now you have a true gaming PC...hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

But you bough a crappy xbox onewith horrible lames games and pathetic graphics, keep moving that fu**ing goal post, there is a fu**ing difference between 1080p and 720p idiot and if you think other wise you are a god damn moron who doesn't even know what a Gaming PC is..

Keep holding tied to the you don't have a PS4 tormentos, because you look a bit more hypocrite every time you preach what you don't practice..hahahaha

I've always been a PC gamer you dolt. This goes back years kid and just this year I ugraded to the 780ti.

I bought an XOne to play the games not available on the PC just like I'll do with the PS4. Like I've always maintained, I play on all systems. Now explain what goal post I'm moving you retard? Keep trying kid, keep trying.

You don't own a PS4 but I do own an XOne. What claims have I made about the PS4 which could only be gathered by experience with it? Do you even know what the word hypocrite means? Grasping much El Tormented?
