Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo? Best console Racing-Sim

Before Gran Turismo 5, GT was. I think it's really GT's failure to adapt that has harmed it the most.

I voted both. Both have their good points and bad points.

Forza 1 > Any GT game aside from 6 as I haven't played it yet

after the GT5 flop im guessing most cows abandoned ship on any new iteration of Gran Turismo

For racing, GT.

For painting cars, Forza.

GT for sim racing but who cares? They've both slipped in quality and are filled with crummy business practices.

Bring back PGR or a NFS Underground remake.

I would have to go with Forza on this one. GT is like Madden, just stuck in their ways and not doing anything to really make the games better. They know it will sell, so they just rehashing the previous games and not really trying to move the genre forward. The bumper car mechanics are unacceptable in these days. It feels like I'm still playing GT2 with better graphics. Forza 1 has better mechanics than GT5 imo. Yes I own GT5 because my buddies begged me to pick it up, but I've only played it a few hours before I just got bored of it.

Better game: Forza>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>GT

Better sim: GT>>>>Forza

The better game? Forza.

The better sim? Has to be GT. Physics feel great, 30 tracks, day/night/weather, and if you, like me, have a racing wheel, the Force feedback from GT is miles better than Forza. Don't get me wrong, I love Forza, but GT has such racing passion to it, that when thinking about what I want to play, I'll always choose GT.

you can't say a game's a sim racer when it doesn't allow you to turn off all driving assists completely.

Forza has taken that throne quite a while ago,even though neither of those series are sims,

I picked both without even thinking, but i will give the physics to GT, man 6 feels like a PC simulator.

The physics are ridiculously good. KW and yokohama really pushed GT head first into simulator territory.

I voted both. But to be frankly honest I haven't played enough of both to really know. Played a bit of GT5 at a mates house (never bought the game for myself) and last Forza I played was 3 which was at my brothers house. Out of those two I liked Forza better and now that I have an XB1 I will get Forza 5 which I'm sure I'll love - hey I'm a car nut.

I prefer Forza.

I like them both for different reasons.

Though latest of both are seeing disturbing trends :

Gran Turismo is stuck in the past, failing to adapt to modern times

Forza has hit a brick wall, and is now taking steps back.

Gran Turismo is for pro racers. Forza is more for casuals.

No. Both series have pretty much the same 'sim' gameplay. The only difference is that Forza games are more consistant and polished. The first 3 GT games were, by far, the best racing games of their time, though.

Forza hands down.

GT was awesome on ps2. But hasn't evolved since then.

I'm going to wait to see what Inside Sim Racing have to say about both.

I picked GameSpot review scores over Metacritic as we are in System Wars and only GS scores matter.

Gran Turismo 7 should even the series out more, but as it stands now - Forza 5 is just too good of a racing game.

When it comes to the driving simutation, I would say Gran Turismo. With a good steering wheel setup it feels much more realistic, and I had so much fun with GT5, tuning cars, driving without ABS, and using clutch and stick shift. And GT6 has improved alot even further.

But as a complete driving game, using a controller, Forza 4 and 4.25 is better. Since they have more features, great visuals, and more versatile and easier driving physics that feels great with a controller.

Foza's less boring, so that. I'd much rather play Shift 2.

Only GT games I enjoyed were GT3 & GT4. Forza 2 to Forza 5 have been my racing game of choice for awhile not. It's the same way with NBA Live and NBA 2K. Loved NBA Live early in it's life, but after NBA 2K8 and on were released. NBA Live is now irrelevant.

It's definitely one of the BEST Arcade Racing games along with Mario Kart. Neither game can touch Forza 5 looks, feel, physics and wealth of luxury cars.

Not a Sim, but if you said Speed Punks...(werll it was a sim before they added weapons.)
