They said no microtransactions. As for Forza 5, they have updated the balancing and making money is easy. Even while not playing, lol.

One post in and a salty lemming already mentions Drive Club. smh.

lmao no microtransactions "at launch." Those assets will be cribbed off F5 no doubt. Sad to see another series get annualised.

Horizon is developed by Playground games and is an open world Forza spin off. The last (and first) one released in 2012. Might want to check your facts.

COD gets different developers too. One with the label released year in, year out. I'm expecting Forza 6 next year.

But the only similarities are the cars and driving. Playground did not rehash the same Forza formula like COD does. It is it's own game entirely that is set in an open world. They are expanding on that even more here with more cars, a larger and even more open world, more events and even weather. Regardless if Forza 6 releases next year, Horizon is still very much it's own game. I'm sorry if you can't see the difference.

Black Ops was a very different game to Modern Warfare 3. That's why BO was the last good COD game.

It's OK, FH2 will be a great game, and might just earn a spot on the blackboard. I'm just saying what I'm seeing.

Nice selection & variety overall, I hope they have those coop missions they had in the first game, forced a few people to try out the less popular cars. Some of those trucks had trouble going uphill, and you had to tune(upgrade) accordingly. I just saw a tweet for the Horizon2 themed Xbox, ......on my phone now cannot post a link, ....looks cool but apparently you can only win it in a contest I think.

That salty lemming dropped a truth bomb as well. Half of FH2's list is double drive clubs total. So pleased Playground Games chose not to skimp out on the amount of cars.

@ironcreed: They are a part of the same overall franchise though, which gets an annual release. Much like Halo ever since.. either ODST or Reach (can't recall). And again, much like Halo, not all games have been strickly FPS when it comes to that franchise. They are still a part of the franchise though.

The issues with this, the annual releasing of a franchise (and sometimes more than 1 game per year) is that you need to have a really strong franchise + strong devs that push quality games consistently to do that. Otherwise the audience just gets tired after a while (see Guitar Hero, PES, Prince of Persia, etc, etc). Hopefully this won't happen to Forza.

Well, we have only had 1 Forza Horizon, and it provided a totally different racing experience to that of the Forza series. Thankfully, Horizon 2 looks to take this even further. On that note, I definitely would not mind seeing Horizon every 2 years/standard Forza series every 2 years, as they take turns.

But yes, I am sick to death of seeing shit like COD and Assassin's Creed every year. Having a strong distinction and identity is the key and Horizon has that in spades. It's not just another Forza with the same sort of design.

Good to hear. Even if they are great racers it just kills any hype for me when they announce microtransactions before launch or at launch

I'm talking about games like GT6, Forza and the upcoming Driveclub

A delayed game is delayed temporarily (Drive Club). A rushed game is forever rushed (Forza 5).

Metacritic scores for "AAA" Forza has been declining recently. Franchise fatigue.

This will probably be fun. But it's also quite a shame MS are doing the same thing they did last gen. And that's blowing their load early in the gen and droughting for exclusive titles later on :/

How are they doing this?

This will probably be fun. But it's also quite a shame MS are doing the same thing they did last gen. And that's blowing their load early in the gen and droughting for exclusive titles later on :/

How are they doing this?

That is all. :P

The MS exclusives. They're good right? They are. But a lot of them are third party exclusives. What happens when those games are released? It's not like they have as many different teams working on games like ND, SSM, etc. Naughty Dog have 3 titles for PS4 in the works as we speak. SSM are working on several. Media Molecule.. There is lots of 1st party support for SONY that isn't as stable for MS. That's just the way it is.

I guess.

Forza and Halo seem spaced out.

But has there been a lot of 3rd party exclusives? Dead Rising 3 comes to mind I think. I'm not keeping up with them tbh.
