Forza 5 graphics not impressive

That's the first thing I noticed when I was watching the GameSpot vid. That bugs the hell out of me.

Forza just gave ghost racing a new meaning.

Why in the fucc, in a racing sim, would you want any of the systems resources wasted on trees. I'm fine with 2d trees, that mirror effect is funny though

To me it looks like a 360/PS3 racer with improved resolution and car models, and that's about it. It's definitely not the graphics showcase of next gen.

But we're in the next gen! we should demand the most from all of our titles.

I'm fully expecting driveclub to hit the 60fps with the 3d trees, there's really no excuse for Forza at this point with it's barren landscapes.

Forza 5 has gorgeous car models but the whole image is woefully underwhelming. At least it's 60fps.

They probably should have settled for 900p.

When I saw both games in person at Digital Nationz expo, I came to the opposite conclusion.

I was surprised myself.

I wouldn't be surprised if the version of Driveclub that was on display before was still largely based around the 4gb ram, before they got to 8.

Hopefully they can hit 60fps with that extra bit of time alotted and maintain the gorgeous environments.

Looks good to me. I loved the video and all the cars on the track

@ReadingRainbow4: Yeah, that's a pretty safe guess. Especially given the PS4's specs relative to the XB1, and the lateness of the 8GB GDDR5 decision. I'm really looking forward to seeing the retail versions.

A difference drastic enough for tears would be pretty cool, but my prediction is the games are going to look pretty similar.

The developers were probably soo invested in trying to get driveclub to look good that the fps is unstable. I wouldn't be surprises if the game has to suffer a downgrade in graphics to up the fps.

Both games look meh worthy. Forza at the moment looks better based on the in game shot vs the renderer. The real game to look for will be Gran Turismo 6/7 which ever makes it to the PS4 1st.

Pretty much my impression too.

Uses images derived from heavily compressed YouTube videos for Forza, and then uses developer PR image for Driveclub.

It's already been stated that Forza makes Drive Club look like shite from numerous sources and runs at 3x the frame rate, Cows need to give it up already.

The actual game is 1080p, not whatever that image is. Looks like a framegrab from a video with all that compression.

Are we looking at a screenshot from E3? That was months ago. Forza can have 16 cars on screen at once, at least in this race, its 1080P and 60FPS. I've never seen more than 2 cars on driveclub's screen. Also, why don't you compare a pic of driveclub hud, because the one you have of forza has the HUD in it, its not a bull shot.

True. The cars look impressive though but everything else is....terrible. They really need a new engine and not an upscaled lastgen engine.

Sony Fan continues to be clowns on SW. The game is does not even have a release date. Sony Fan should be praying to Kaz that the game does not get canceled.

Forza 5 graphics are only impressive if you're one of those who don't own a gaming rig nor have friends who own one to even try a game in 1080p but instead stuck with 720p n under for the passed 8 years... absolutely everything but resolution looks last gen in that game

They are not from Youtube but from Gamespot itself (it's on the front page), anyway it's not about the quality of the pics I know they are different, just the landscape of Forza looks so underwhelming mostly due to those 2d trees and google earth buildings

I personally think project cars looks better than both of these but what do i know?

LOL, GT4 on PS2 had better environmental graphics than that. LOL

Okay? Killzone Shadow Fall's graphics aren't either, but I'm not making threads about that...

Somebody should create a collection of all these console graphics threads. Killzone this, Ryse that, Forza blah blah. Fighting for second place is pitiful, especially when graphics officially doesn't matter on consoles.
