For those who've PLAYED Metro 2033 - How do you rate it?

IGN and Gamespot reviews surprised me quite a bit because I really enjoyed the game, and would think it deserved an 8 at the very least.

So I was wondering how actual gamers rate this game. What are you thoughts on the game?

PS: < didn't seem to work, so the option with number 6 = "less than"

8/8,5 for the PC version. Didn't play 360 one. The game gets unfair bashing, sadly.

One of the most detailed game worlds ive ever seen, no infact THE most detailed game world. Everything has reason, a history, there is just so much of a "lived in" feeling. Amazing atmoshpere, graphically quite amazing, some stunning scenes, looks better than almost anything ive ever seen. Nothing feels re-used, even though its all are very similar enviroment, it always feels unique, even though it does re-use assests like all games. I think every single piece of this game had someone think about it before they placed it, and it shows.

I will now use this time to spam some screenshots ive wanted to posted for a while, taking from MY PC, no bullshots, no posting someone elses screenshots (ahem Crysis) and claiming it their own. The detail is amazing imo. Haters be damned! :)

Completed 360 version a few days ago & over half way through on PC.

Beat the 360 version last night and thought it was one of the better games I have played in awhile in terms of having substance over flash. Overall, I feel it is deserving of a very commendable 8.5.

So it seems the majority thinks Metro 2033 is a solid & enjoyable game. I've played many awful games this gen & this isn't even close to being one, yet some here still feel it is.

A very good fps from what I've played so far. Not as good as Crysis, but better than Killzone 2, or Halo 3. It's a really cool game. A 9 from me.

Because people love to vote for the sake of voting. Even when it doesn't apply to them.

Those 16 votes would probably be distributed among the scores which would corrupt the data.

The game is fantastic and very underrated imo.

The atmosphere is the best ever.

Great storytelling/story, very good gameplay/shooting and the best atmosphere of all time.

Its not like other shooters at all haha. Other shooters dont have this kind of amazing atmosphere or detailed game world.

About 6-7. It's got a nice story and good atmosphere. But the gameplay really lets it down. The stealth in the game is quite badly implemented. And the ai is fairly dumb, and heavily scripted.

The graphics are great, even though I'm only using DX9. But I expected a better atmosphere, gameplay, and story. There was not enough details put into the game, I just did'nt get sucked into the game like I have been with so many other games. And the game felt like it was rushed.

A game like this should probably have been made more like Dead Space.

8.5 (PC) :D It has flaws but when it excels, it's almost unrivaled. Plus the atmosphere, the setting were all top notch. Monster design was awesome, grotesque, creepy. AI was the only complaint I found. The hit detection kicked ass, was almost worthy of Killzone 2s animation crown. Gunplay was suprisingly solid, but nothing special. Where it really shines though is the immersion. Being on the surface (or some underground sections), and your gasmask is running out of filters, it's getting damaged from battling monsters, you're starting to breath heavy and the mask is steaming up with condensation. There's a feeling of urgency and terror when you're scrambling around, struggling to see, trying to find a replacement gasmask or filters from a mangled corpse. The stories interesting, superb characters, and a sense of macabre humor. The game world is one of the best I've seen, along with STALKER. It feels real, lived in, believable. It's harsh, brutal and unforgiving. Great game, but not for everyone.
