Ubisoft killed the greatest franchise. 15 studios are working on AC: Valhalla. RIP SPC.
I can't blame Boobiesoft. I love Prince of Persia but the game don't really sell that well. Assasins Creed is a money maker.
Assassin's Creed borrowed from Prince of Persia in its origins. Seems making a Prince of Persia game would just bring it back full circle. And since AC has become such a hybrid of just about anything, I can't see them making a Prince of Persia game that doesn't look derivative of Assassin's Creed with a different name, but scaled back, and that would just invite the kind of criticism that could cripple a game before release.
Anyhow, lots of devs probably build little projects like this to pitch to publisher to secure funding and determine next project and such, probably made for internal purposes. I can only see Ubisoft exploring a Prince of Persia revival if they need to take a break from an IP that has to contend with franchise fatigue.
Persians are white though. I mean not the European white but they are close enough that you can't distinguish. A number of my colleagues are from Iran so I know what I'm talking about. They aren't dark skinned at all.
On topic though. I'm 100% sure now that if Ubisoft make a new PoP they will definitely f**k it up.

They already did long ago.
looks like uncharted of persia.
nothing of value was lost.
It feels like a side project. Far Cry 3 success was the final nail in the coffin.

It was underrated, ahead of its time with potential that could have flourished in a sequel.

It was not underrated. it was straight out terrible. easiest and most casual game of all time.

PoP 08 wasn't a bad game. It's presentation is stellar with some of the most beautiful cell shaded styles in any game. Prior the SoulsBorne games, this game captured a sense of melancholy that was unlike any other. Really like the interaction between the Prince and Elika. Also the soundtrack was great.
When was this prototype made? Was it before Uncharted or after? Because it looks like there might be some Uncharted influence there. But then again, Uncharted itself was influenced by POP in the first place. The video looks reminiscent of the opening level for POP Two Thrones, but with a more fast-paced cinematic pace like Uncharted, and what appears to be automated jumping, like Uncharted or Zelda.
Regarding Persian skin colour, Persians/Iranians come in different shades, from olive to brown skin. The Prince in the video looks more on the olive end of the spectrum.

15!?!?!?!?!
It should not take that many people and resources to make a great video game. It does not take that many people and resources to make a great video game.
Looked pretty mediocre. Ubi can't make a game without tower climbing, hawk/drone map scanning, parkour and wall climbing.
When was this prototype made?
Some additional details:
— Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) May 6, 2020
- Target game footage (pre-rendered game pitch) created around April 2010-2011.
- Planned to be a PS3/360 gen game.
- Did not go ahead, was cancelled.
- Was also an inspiration for AC3 team https://t.co/Q5aWF3kwU0
It was done in 3 months to get a feel on the game and show the project to Ubi HQ.

15 studios on one game is a bit of a special thing for Ubisoft too. AC Odyssey was one of their biggest project and it only had 7 teams working on it.
Is it too much to ask for a new POP game with the gameplay similar to warrior within?
Peak of the series. They can hardly make PoP. lol you're asking to match with this one.
