Its good to see, im happy it got 5 million downloads. Im hoping Nintendo can find success in it and gather some more people to bring to the virtual console, we need more virtual console fans. I also hope Nintendo makes virtual console available to them, we need their input and buying power.
Pokemon on mobile isn't exactly new. They have several apps up already, including "camp Pokemon", which is some kind of young kids game.
It's smart to release this for mobile, that's where the model works best.
beginnings of the 3rd party design model.
Hopefuly MH4U makes it to another system besides the shitty 3ds.
Honestly i dont see anything wrong with this kind of games for mobile, but i dont think they should release some of their old games like Super Mario since the control will be horrible and i doubt Nintendo would allow those terrible controllers for this games.
@madsnakehhh: Thats very true, i forgot about the controls. Guess they will have to keep doing what they are doing, making dicated games to draw them to more Nintendo games.
Actually, Pokemon is not a wholly-owned Nintendo franchise so I do not see how this can be the "first" Nintendo game on a mobile device. I thought that the first Nintendo mobile game will be released sometime latter this year.
The game was downloaded 3 million times on the 3DS. It is going to be downloaded 100 million times between both platforms, and when that happens, Nintendo is going to embrace mobile like crazy. Hopefully they will realize that they should be a third party developer.
@samusbeliskner: Nintendo is smarter than to fall for the mobile scene. Its way to cut throat, they would do better going on PC and battling Steam. But they wont do that either, why make war when you can make love. Nintendo will continue to make innovative hardware that can only be experienced through them. They are very good at what they do, even with the Wii U struggling, Nintendo has still made a fortune off it. They are smart with their money.

They're about to rake some dough from in app purchases. Hope their next gen handheld isn't ass backwards.
This is good good news for people who love Pokemon and refuse to buy the shitty portable system. Though, this will give people less reasons to buy the 3DS, and will stunt the 3DS sales even more than they already are which is also a good thing.

Dear god no!

Why not? PC, Sony, and MS fanboys beg for Mario, Metroid, and Zelda on their systems. What's so bad about Nintendo getting more customers and doing away with the overhead of their own hardware?

And how many of those gamers actually care about Nintendo, especially in the modern era? Hardly any.

Then what is your objection to Nintendo putting their software on other platforms, that people won't buy it?

Err I don't know. I'm all in for making money and all, but having Pokemon on mobile, Nintendo could get carried away with DLC and such. stuff like this can get out of hand, and if we start releasing Pokemon on mobile, I smell doom for the handhelds and handhelds are now endanger species.

Agreed, we've already seen a glimpse of how bad it can get(amiibo). Not even a year in, and they have more than 50 toys.

Yes! Like I said, there is little interest of Nintendo from those systems, I don't see Mario/Zelda/Pokemon faring that well on those systems, and I especially don't see PC gamers finding interest in these kind of games:
...especially when this was laughed at:
@ultimateimp: Stop talking about things you know nothing about. Its not even a Pokemon game. Its just a foolish mobile puzzle game with the brand pokemon on it. Get lost troll.
Mobile is a great way to advertise their IPs on smart devices, but without giving them anything "real" so to speak. I think its a great way to make some money and advertise their real shit at the same time.
If that has nothing to do with their plan. Why even release a new console?

Indeed, i feel this is their goal with this approach, to gather more attention to main Nintendo games.
