As some of you know, I purchased the system but was on the fence on if I would actually open it and give it a try or return it. After finding out that the MS store has a 14 day return policy I decided to open it up and give it a spin. I'm sad to say that my greatest fears and concerns in regards to the system became apparent very quickly.

The system is enormous and not very attractive. The Kinect was bigger than I thought it would be and that long cord was a pian to deal with....the camera and cord just added to the clutter of my entertainment unit. The controller in pretty near perfect in my humble opinion.

The performance of the Kinect; voice commands, gestures.....and the multimedia features of the systems just are not ready for prime time. This system has potential but just feels sooooo rushed. This is the vibe that I got from doing research, but I thought that I'd atill give it a chance. It pains me to say but it has proven to be true....it just seems gimmicky and for 500 bucks, i dont ferl its worth it.This is coming from an xbox guy since the original came back out in the day. I simply do not understand some of the decisions MS decided on I making this machine. It just feels rushed....no other way to put it.

I've decided to return the system and hold off to see how things pan out. I will stick with my trusty 360 until I'm ready and the system is ready.

Any of you guys have similar experiences?

You shouldn't have bought a console at launch. You set yourself up for disappointment.

Exactly this. Be prepared for this if you're an early adopter. If you want a console in its prime wait a year and a half after launch.

@lamprey263: I did play a game....killer instinct. It was an ok experience. I also played battlefield 4. It was a good looking game but the performance was not as good as I thought it be. The frame rate struugled at times.

It's a little rough around the edges, but with software updates, what difference does that make? Compare the 360's UI at launch to now. There's a world of difference.

I'd rather get a ps4 but I still don't understand how some people list the look and system size of the xbox one as a negative. It's just a box to hold the components, it could just be a plain black box with fans for all I care.

@ghostwarrior786: even I'd opened I could sell it at a profit? How much you think I could ask for it?

if its day 1 edition it could do well. list it as buy it now for some ridiculous price and accept offers. just when you list it on ebay write 'opened only for testing purposes'.

i just sold my ps4 for $100 profit but it was sealed, some people are made even $200.

From what I've seen of both the campaign and multiplayer the BF4 experience is pretty smooth...

and while the framerate is varied it doesn't come anywhere near sluggish, me thinks you playing fakeboy

I agree. I have BF4 on my ps4 not the X1 as I got it sooner but from what I've seen between the two the frame rate never gets to the point I'd call sluggish. Call of duty frame rates on the PS4 have been a little hit and miss, so I ended up selling my ps4 copy and picked up the X1 version when the X1 dropped. I can say IMO the x1 frame rate is smoother but you notice the small differences with the resolution being lower.
