Funny that doesn't look like FF9, looks like one of the worst FF games ever made with the worst character ever made in a video game.

I think I played this years ago on my PC.

Just get it for PS2.

Besides,I am not really a fan of jrpgs.Last year,I decided not to be so close-minded and gave FFX a chance(since many claim that it is the best FF game).Huge mistake.

The only thing in the game that I found interesting was this

So it really is just FFX in hd.  No changes to models, textures, lighting, or anything as far as I can tell.

The wait wouldn't have seemed so long if they just told us upright to please be excited.

Seriously, am I missing something?  Why did this take so long to push out.  Full games are developed in this amount of time.

It is mind numbing.  One person.  Just ONE person could have had this up and running flawlessly in a couple of months or less.

Square Enix HQ must be a warehouse full of monkeys with the occasional human being coming in to check on progress.  The do so many inexplicable things, its the only conclusion I can come to.

And I'm sure a lot of what put CoD10 off was the fact that this was SEs first fully voiced game and though it was passable and even cool at the time, todays standards would make it seem embarrassingly bad to a new comer.

CoD10, you would probably be better off trying some of the SNES or PS1 titles.  If you can get over the extremely dated graphics, they are fantastic games.

Looks great, the updated character models especially. Finally having the International versions of the games this year is gon' be good. :3

So this version is the one with dark aeons and Penance? I may get the Vita version of this in the future then, assuming I get a Vita at some point.

It may not be huge, but there is a difference beyond just running in HD.  The models have a very minimal increase in poly count, but the textures are noticeablly better.

I thought the same thing at first, but these tell a different story.

I was already getting it just for the added international content, but the visual improvement is a nice bonus.

Playing the original again atm, this looks good with AA and higher rez textures. They could have taken the time to change the low poly in game characters with the higher polygon in game cut scene models.(not the cgi models)

It seems SE put a decent amount of effort into this.

Cool man, hopefully you'll enjoy it.  I liked it from the start, but a lot of these old jrpgs take a while to pick up and get addictive.  So give it a couple of hours if you're not into it at first.

It has a great story, great characters and the gameplay is fun enough.  Final Fantasy VI is also killer.  Best FF game imo and just a hair better than Chrono Trigger.

Square used to be on fire all the time so a lot of their old games are worth checking out.

Yeah, the added cutscenes are strange, but they dont bother me.  I just hate playing the PS versions of the SNES classics because of the load times.  They're short, but I just love how instant everything is in the originals.  In and out of battle with no pause.

People went ape shyte over the fact that Snow was punching stuff in FFXIII, and guess what you have in Chrono Trigger? That's not counting the thick blonde and the generic nerd chick (granted, Lucca was way more bearable). Thankfully Chrono was quiet so he wasn't annoying even if it took away immersion. That's not even getting into the plot.

I don't recall many people complaining about Snow punching at all, and if people did they ARE f*cking stupid because that's basically what Tifa and Zell did. But as far as I knoww the more prominent complaints for Snow was his hero sticht, and the fact that he looked like a Pedo next to Serah (yes I know Serah's 18, but still they looked very awkward together considering their awful characters design).

Chrono Triggers weren't amazing or anything, sure, though I don't see how they could be annoying. They were pretty "standard" for me really.

It looks like the textures in FFX HD may be slightly better than pcsx2 considering these textures aren't available on a PS2 disc.  If so, this may actually be a decent HD remaster for once.

Most PS2 HD remasters are mere upscales and the pcsx2 version always looks better.
