It's pretty cool that were getting 8 on the psn, especially for those that haven't played it.

yeah, once you get lionheart and aura (i think it was called if i remember correctly) you pretty much can kill almost anything with little trouble.

Once you get meltdown and junction to strength you can kill basically anything with renzokuken. You can do that in the first disk. Hell you don't even need meltdown. You can overpower yourself in 8 in like 5 hours if you know what you are doing.
Good luck junctioning beginners  . . . . :( (I really feel for them. that sucks when you haven't figured out the system)

 i practically had to restart my file once i figured it out. Well not really, i had to restart because the PS3 cannot (atleast mine)emulate Disk 4 but i probably would have anyway. But the games been a cakewalk on my second playthrough. I cant believe Square implemented such a vulnerable system.
Great!!!
My copy has gotten lost in the winds of life and considering how it's impossible to even find early titles from this gen, FF8 cannot find it's way back into my collection any other way.
And I'll dare make the claim that FF8>FF7 in 2009 to someone who never played either.
Was there ever more to it than keeping all the junctioned magic stacks as close to 99 as possible?Good luck junctioning beginners  . . . . :( (I really feel for them. that sucks when you haven't figured out the system)

forgot about meltdown, but at least the enemy's leveled up with you although if you know what you're doing it won't make that much of a difference. None the less i still enjoyed this final fantasy a great deal.
Yay i can pay for games I already own. Good news.KukicAdoYou could just as easily say the same thing about all the NES/SNES/Etc. games on the Wii virtual console or the Xbox games you can download for the 360. Besides, if you already own it, why would you pay for it again? You can already play it on your PS3, since all PS3s will play PS1 games (unlike the virtual console games; if I still have old NES carts, but my NES is broken, I can't play those old games on the Wii without repurchasing. Lame.) Releasing it (and this goes for all the PS1 classics) on PSN just allows people who never played it, or who lost it or whatever to buy it for cheap (I dunno about 8, but buying a disc copy of 7 now is pretty hard to do. Before 7 came out on PSN, I saw it on Amazon for something like $100).
Wait. Doesn't this game suck? lol I saw some kid online who reviewed it for like an entire year about how much it sucked and while I never played it, it seemed pretty convincing
OMG I totally feel you. I hated junctioning. and I played this game when I was 7 (or was it 6?) Anyway, this is awesome news since it means they will put up IX as well :)Good luck junctioning beginners  . . . . :( (I really feel for them. that sucks when you haven't figured out the system)

Nope. It has its weak points but it's a really good game. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like complicated battle systems though. The Junctioning can get really annoying if you like your combat to be simple. Drawing magic seemed like a bad design choice IMO. Other than that it's a really good game. You should try it if you have $10 :)Wait. I saw a hard copy of ff7 greatest hits edition for 125 bucks. Also whats good about PSN ps1 games is that I can take them on the go with my psp. So it helps me when I want something cheap and fun to paly on my psp. Right now im playing RE2 and going to buy dino crisis soon. Thats one thing I wonder why nintendo ever did. To make thier wii VC games portable with a ds.
Why did they have to wait until I purchased a hardcopy? I may still download it so I can play it on my PSP without remote play.
Im close 2 beating the 2nd disc, and game for the first time. While its great I doubt Ill play it again, so Ill pass.

Then don't try to keep them to 99. It makes the game too easy anyways.
This would be awesome news if i didnt buy FF8 and FF9 from Amazon in July
EPaul
I did the exact same thing + Chrono Cross.
Junctioning is easy when you know how :Pcarlisledavid79It take a wile to realize that drawing, while dangerous, is worth it on bosses. In fact it's needed to collect all summons ;)

Most people that say FF8 suck because of that are people that played it after reading a faq or hearing the secret of the system from someone else. There are very few people I have heard of, that managed to figure it out in the first play-through without external help. Personally it took me until around the end of disk three to figure that out because I was leveling up and still the game was too hard so I started to experiment until I figured it out. Since it was too hard I started drawing lots of magic and by luck I junctioned certain ones in their most efficient positions with the full 99, and then I was like . In my second play-throuhg I read a faq and all tricks like which magic is the most efficient in every stat.
By the way FF8 is my probably my favorite alongside FF6

I figured it out first play through. I got forced too when I reached the ship with all the respawning monsters. The game doesn't suck at all, its just too easy to beat once you learn the tricks.
