The CG cutscenes were really good. But the ingame graphics aren't the best. The sprites are too tiny, and the environments is too empty. Even Final Fantasy III looks better than this. I guess Square needed to reduce the ingame quality to focus on the CG cutscenes the most.
Since it was announced months ago. :| Anyway, there's gonna be a lot more combat and probably more to the game (and the cutscenes like you mentioned), which is why the graphics are gonna be worse than FFIII .
