LEGENDARY ROLE-PLAYING CLASSICS COMING TO PLAYSTATION®4 SYSTEM

LOS ANGELES (Dec. 11 , 2014) – Over the weekend at Sony’s PlayStation®Experience event, and at the PlayStation® China press conference in Shanghai today, SQUARE ENIX® announced that FINAL FANTASY® VII and FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster will be ported to the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system with system-exclusive features.

Both titles are planned for a release in Spring 2015 on the PlayStation®4 system as a digital download, while FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster will also be available as a packaged product. FINAL FANTASY VII will be priced at $15.99, and FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster will be priced at $49.99.

I rather have the KH HDs but whatever. Platted this on PS3 and would do again on PS4.

I'd rather just have FFX HD by itself for a bit cheaper. Bundling FFX-2, the game no asked for, just seems like a convenient way to keep the price up.

What will they add thats new? I have it on the PS3 already and its great, so I see no reason to buy this again. For people who have not played it, this is great I guess.

Didn't get it for PS3 so I'd get it for PS4. Also, I would definitely get KH1 & 2 on PS4.

they just remastered this crap for ps360 and now all they're doing is rereleasing the same crap but in 1080p. How the hell is anyone supposed to be hyped?

Probably not. sadly. Like FFXIII, i can see SE being more interested in the engine and graphical fidelity than making the plot and character have a lick of sense. Let's hope not

They made it for the PS3 and Vita. And the game already runs at 1080p on the PS3, but with no AA. The only way they can maybe improve it is by adding better AA to the game. I doubt they will improve the frame rate, since the original ran at 30, and they would need to add new animations. So nothing much new if they re release this game again, it will just be for people who missed out on the PS3 version.

Yeah what I've seen so far of the game is pretty good, but at the same time I'm worried it's looking good because it's all they're focusing on. Action combat isn't worth shit if it isn't engaging or fluid and a massive open world is just a disturbance if it's completely empty...

Let's not forget the development hell the game has been in, and the fact KH3 switched to UE after all that about their own engine.

Nowadays, Final Fantasy, and many hgh budget JRPGs seem extremly focused on cutscenes and graphics. Still, not gonna judge it until release. I even hope, and expect, FF XV and KH3 on PC for those who want it (right after Lightnign Returns hits steam).

But it's Square Enix so, please be excited.

Honestly Final Fantasy isn't doing as badly as I think some people want to make it out to be. XI, XII and XIV:ARR are absolutely fine games (of course we have to not count the original FFXIV....) and of the last entries only XIII disappointed. I just think Sqenix is way out of touch with its fans, as proven by the FFXIII sequels (who genuinely showed an interest in Lightning as a character?) and the damned FFVII-not-a-remake stunt they pulled just recently >.<

Knowing SE, nothing. I'd like an option for Japanese voiced dialogues.

God dammit S-E. Hopefully there's an upgrade discount or something for those who paid full retail for the PS3 versions. I hope the same holds true if KH gets re-released on PS4 too (albeit we all know we'd rather have these games go to PC).

SE knows they can't create good games anymore so they just 'remaster' old ass games except ones that are hard to remaster ... like FF7, of course.

As someone who has been hesitant to buy a current generation console... all these confirmed and rumoured announcements regarding remasters has really put me off. I'm still debating on a WiiU during boxing week, but that's only due to the literal 0% chance any Nintendo game would appear on PC. I honestly would like to buy a PS4 down the road, but I bought a PS3 this year and multiple games I bought for it, whether new or old, have either been remastered or released on PC. It is extremely frustrating, but the current trend or remaking/remastering games from the SAME year even.... are developers really that desperate for some extra sales? I imagine most people wouldn't buy both versions of games, but it up to each person.

Kind of sad that this is even spreading to handhelds, more so Vita with excessive ports and remasters..... ugh. What is gaming becoming? Kind of sad I can't feel confident about even the thought of purchasing a PS4/X1 due to fear that a majority of the games will be remade before the end of the generation or find its way to PC X years later where I mainly play.

I'll stick with FFX+X2 on the PS3 regardless, but I imagine my roommate would buy KH 1.5 and 2.5 if they put it on PS4. She's a KH fan for life (even though I own 1.5 +2.5 for my PS3... which enforces what I'm frustrated about).

I'm not sure what's the point to bring a PS2 game which rereleased on the PS3 to the PS4, but hey, if they bring FF7 to the PS4, why not 10 as well. After all they love milking their fans

If they're going to do this, they need to fix all the audio issues.

I have not bought any of the KH collections on PS3 because I'm waiting for them to be available on PS4. And yes, I think the series' gameplay it's just button mashing, some lame platforming and the story sucks beyong belief but I do enjoy the Disney worlds/setting. Gameplay is not everything.

It's there to build up anticipation for FF15 obviously. Probably gonna be the same thing as the PS3 version in 1080p without having to switch from the main menu. Don't see where this remaster of a remaster nonsense is coming from

I already have the PC HD remaster. I refuse to re-buy a game I bought twice back in 2003.

I hope it sell badly so that Square will stop. I have nothing against a remaster, but a remaster of a remaster or the port of a game that has been ported to hell and back is just too much.

Wasn't this same collection initially $39.99 MSRP on the PS3? Why in the actual **** would it be $49.99 on the PS4?

I have no problem with it being ported again to PS4, in fact eventually I'll probably get it (when it drops to like $19.99). The price will probably drop like a rock in no time. I know the MSRP is basically meaningless, I just don't get their thinking.

For that matter, Final Fantasy VII at $15.99 is a joke too.

I know their phone versions of these games are priced insanely too. What the hell is going on at Square? Does anyone actually buy these overpriced ports?
