Fans Rally to Get Xenoblade Released in NA (It's #1 on Amazon now!!!)

This topic is locked from further discussion.

Following the disappointing news that Xenoblade won't be making it to the US, fans have rallied, and are organizing various protests to get Nintendo of America to sit up and take notice, and to get the game released here at any cost.

  • The campaign began on IGN's forum, with a letter template being worked upon, addressed to Reggie, and with all letters due to reach Reggie on the 6th of July. As Destructoid reports, the campaign has now spread to get Pandora's Tower and The Last Story localized too.
  • Moreover, after Gamespot user LegatoSkyHeart pointed it out, I realized that another recourse for the fans has been to start preordering the game on Amazon. The game's Amazon ranking is rising right now. I encourage you all to preorder Xenoblade on Amazon. The preordering has been helping, as currently, Xenoblade is ranked #16 on the Amazon video games chart, #1 in the Action Games chart on Wii, and #4 for all Wii games.
  • Another things that fans are doing- and this one's quite hilarious- is spamming Nintendo's Facebook feed.(thanks to super600 for pointing that out). You can also bombard Nintendo of America's Twitter feed.Address your tweets to @NintendoAmerica. Be sure to include the tag #Xenoblade in your tweet!
  • You can also swamp Nintendo's phone lines by calling 1800-633-3236 and asking about this game's release (thanks, Nintendonly!)
  • Check out the official blog page for Operation Rainfall, and be sure to drop in with your support!
  • Finally, be sure to check out the home page for the game itself!
  • Also, if you'd like, please put the Xenoblade logo in your sig. I'm providing the picture below, feel free to copy it to your sig. Also, please include a link to this thread, so more people can know about our campaign. Let's put up a fair fight, people!

Whereas there is little chance that this game will get localized in spite of any of this, I have personally now done all of the above.

Come on guys! Let's do this! It's times like this that we need to stand up as gamers! Let's get Xenoblade released in North America!

THE GAME IS RANKED #1 ON AMAZON GUYS... IT'S WORKING! LET'S KEEP AT IT! :D

Were you guys looking forward to Xenoblade, or any of the other two games? Were you disappointed when they were confirmed to be not releasing in the US? Are you guys planning on spamming NoA too?

And most of all, do you think this campaign will be successful?

charizard1605

There's a good chance that this campaign can work, but I doubt it will anyway.

So do I. However, I plan on doing my part. I also started bombarding them on Twitter now :D

I'll do my part, but still going to import if there's no news by august.
#14 Posted by yokofox33 (30484 posts) -

I guess I'll pre-order it, but I'm not doing any of that other stuff. Doubt it works, but you never know.

I'll eventually import too, but not before putting up a fair fight.

Same here.

But for real Char, 2 threads on this matter?

Two reasons why I made this thread. The old one (All hope lost) would seem like a discussion thread about the game NOT being imported. Many people might not even click on the thread title. Secondly, the old one has the links scattered all over. Here, I tried to consolidate all the links and different parts of the protest into one page. I'm still in the process, and I hope to have links for Nintendo's YouTube channel, Twitter page, Facebook page, the game's Amazon page, Amazon rankings, as well as the official blog for the protest, in the OP. This is to direct those people's attention to the matter who would otherwise be intimidated ot go through 8 pages of posts. This thread really is just a single stop all access post, really.

For those saying that the spamming of the facebook stuff does not work, ask the people that kept day after day demanding the tales series be localized for Europe/NA so it does work

If you guys work hard and keep demanding it they will listen

#19 Posted by bc1391 (11906 posts) -

I preordered. I really think that will be the most effective way to get Nintendo's attention.

Social media is transparent and quite powerful. Make use of it guys.

Amazon.ca doesn't have Xenoblade/Monado for pre-order. >.>

Snail mail will have to wait until July 6. >.>

Advertising this thread/the campaign in my sig for now. Feel free to copy my sig and host it on your image host (Curse you, Photobucket limits!) or use GS once they finally process the image if you don't have an image host. I don't want to pay extra to import it and I don't want Nintendo to misunderstand the European market as a result of importing.

Spread the word, people!

I use Imageshack for images, no limit for me!

Anyways I've left a nice Facebook message.

Though I doubt Nintendo will read all 1000 messages that have been posted recently.

How is it meaningless? The propose is for Wii users to get Xenoblade in US. I don't see how this could possibly hurt by at least trying.

So what you're saying is, people should just sit and twiddle their thumbs all day. Gotcha. When it doesn't work out, all they should do is accept it and not even try.

What is impolite about any of this?
#35 Posted by Luxen90 (7427 posts) -

and people are taking multiple approaches with this. People are sending actual letters to Nintendo(There's a very polite template available to copy). I actually see people being pretty polite(except for a couple) on their facebook page and people are buying Monado on US amazon despite it not really being available so they can get Nintendo's attention. I'm not sure how much more polite you want them to be. Please do tell your ways.

People are doing it in a polite way. They're doing preorders, sending emails pleading, Facebook messages simply asking. No one is being rude, no one is saying F U NINTENDO. No one is torching down their HQ.

How is this like a riot? Have we sent death threats, thrown molotovs at Nintendo's American/Canadian (Yes, there's an NoC) headquarters, hacked them, or obstructed their operations in any other way? This is just a protest to voice our opinion. Nothing more.

I use Imageshack for images, no limit for me!

Totally forgot I have an ImageShack account. :P

Come on, Nintendo, what happened to fan service?
#41 Posted by ryangcnx-2 (1300 posts) -

What is it with this generation with all these good games being locked up in japan lately, namely RPG's and the most of what gets released here is garbage?. All three platforms are starving in the jrpg area, this is nintendo's chance to one up the other two and have something for the RPG fans. If NIS can release garbage title after another, why can't Nintendo and Namco start releasing more good RPG's. I'll have to look into the amazon pre orering thing too.

Apparently, their idea of fan service involves releasing the ninth Mario Party game over quality games like Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower.

If Xenoblade is localised, then The Last Story probably will too. Fatal Frame should probably be given up as a lost cause at this point.
#45 Posted by bc1391 (11906 posts) -

Apparantly the reason why Fatal Frame 4 was never released is because it was buggy when it came out and Tecmo didn't want to fix it. I remember reading that somewhere a while back. That doesn't explain the absence of the Fatal Frame 2 remake though.

Yes, if Xenoblade is localized, it opens the doors for other Japan only titles to make their way to the west as well.

So do I. However, we already eight of those and we have no Xenoblade here. Moreover, there is a dearth of quality RPGs on the Wii, as well as an absolute lack of quality hardcore games outside of Zelda and Kirby on the Wii this year. Nintendo are sitting on a great core specific RPG here, why not release it? Why release the NINTH Mario Party instead, when it's likely to be the same as the other eight?
