Evolve might be getting delayed

I had no idea it was even supposed to come out this year. That's too bad for the game then, holiday season is the best time to release a game. Then again, it does nobody any good to release a game prematurely.

Nah, some of these are dudes I've been playing with since Unreal 2 The Awakening on the first Xbox and family members.

2015 is going to be 1 hell of a year for gaming.

They must have read my comments on the Alpha survey. The core of the game is fun but it needs a lot of work

Smart to delay because so many game coming out soon, but past december will hurt sale which is shame...

Its very poorly optimized at the moment but I think the main problem is that the game feels too simplistic and gets old quick. the "hunt" mode in the alpha involved chasing after the monster and shooting it as the humans and thats pretty much it. They need to add other objectives for the humans or maybe some kind of progression through the level ala L4D versus mode.

The classes are fun and nicely distinct and fighting the monster once it evolves to higher stages is pretty fun but they need to build more around the central gameplay.

I'm not overly worried about the poor optimization since its still in alpha.

This seems kind of odd because the majority of the game seemed like it was finished when I played the alpha. Obviously there were a couple of technical issues but I suspect those would be easily ironed out.

If it is delayed it could be due to launching in a window that contains big sellers like COD, Fifa, Destiny, Assassins Creed, Far Cry, Dragon Age and thats before you consider MS backed and promoted IP's like Forza, Sunset Overdrive as well as new IP's like The Crew, Lords of the Fallen and probably more I have missed. I think probably Feb 2015 would be a good point to release from a sales point of view.

Aww man.. that was one of my most anticipated titles for this year..

Maybe 2015 will be more balanced out with releases than 2014.

That's too bad. I was debating picking this up once i could try it but it looked good. It still wont be a slow end of the year for me with games like Halo MC Collection, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2, Assassins Creed Unity and possibly Destiny by any means

Damn that sucks. I played this at Comic-Con and it was really good. Hopefully this delay makes it even better and more things added to it. And just wanted to share this:

Took the words right out of my mouth. This was my experience within the alpha as well.

I wrote a long critique of my game experience, and suggested improvements from the alpha. I'm glad they delayed it. It will be a good game if they take heed to most of the criticism from the alpha. It was a really good alpha, no doubt. But, it definitely needs a lot of optimization, and rebalancing. I'm sure the L4D team will have no problems addressing the issues. They were really open on wanting people to give truthful feedback.

But it's the defining game of 2014.

MS will be spitting blood after they got the marketing deal for this and now it's missing Christmas.

Now remember that The Order:1886 and The Witcher 3 also be release in February so it looks like Evolve doesn't stand a chance. Should have release in March and both titles are on my list. That said, I was going to pick Evolve over Destiny so it looks like I will be getting Destiny this year after all.

Ever since they announced they shaped the game to have the "most DLC ever", my interest plummeted.. not hyped about half of a game out of the box.

Disappointed to hear this, easily one of my most anticipated games this year, but again in the grand scheme of things it might be for the best because i still have tons to play in the fall and Feb 2015 is usually quiet for game releases so when Evolve comes out I can just play it more then.....big L4D fan, I know this will be such a great game when it comes out, I can feel it.

Tons of multi plats that I will be buying for PS4, mainly FC4 and AC Unity. Those 2 games alone will fill my winter.

I see. I could never get into the Far Cry or AC franchises. Different strokes for different folks.
