Daaaamn. #360MasterRace strikes again.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
you do know that the 360 version was always the better version of the game right ?
You do know that the PS4 version was marketed as the definitive version that would be used at all tournaments going forward, right?

it was marketed that way due to contracts and look what happened. as of now and for the rest of the 2015 fgc season the ps4 version is the bastard version until its properly tested and given the ok for tourney play. its like having the playstation version of ST for official tourney play all over again
WOW Sony paid for PS4 to be the premier tournament platform for this
i bet were gonna see a crapton of patches to fix this before these tourneys drop
sonys want there name on this game at tourneys they dont want 360 to have any name on the street fighter series cuz they just bought sf5
*sigh* oh Sony, you only had one job...i bet they will go with the PS4 version for Capcom Cup.
If I recall, Capcom pulled it out of their tourney too.

Oh the stories told from Mike Watson about DSP's "high rank" on that version.

lol its all true tho. if charizard1605 would only understand how the FGC works..... outside of evo and capcom cup in the upcoming years the ps4 version of usf4 will never be used. its not just a hot fix for this game. ya seen the vids of glitches and bugs that look like character nerfs. if this was a easy fix then why capcom dropped the ps4 version for the rest of the season ?.

You mean more waiting right? We get it. lol!!
I don't see how anyone could use the XBOX 360 gamepad for fighting games; its D-Pad is terrible.
....it's a fighting game tournament. What do you think those people actually use? Because I assure you the actual gamepad users list? pretty low number.

You use a fight stick?
@emil_fontz:
They use the Thumb Stick..... I mean thats just obvious. Thats what I do (because the D-Pad is really really bad)
No they don't, that's even worse.
The 360 has a bad d-pad, but I'll use that any day over an analog stick for fighting games.
@JangoWuzHere:
LoL..... looks like its just me then. :p
I just don't play fighters with the 360 pad. I use a 360 controller on the pc and just don't bother. However, when 3DS came out I bought that version of street fighter and my thumb would just cramp up using the dpad--had to use the circle pad which worked but at the same time felt like i'd break the console.

LMAO Obviously you've never seen a fighting game tournament. No one uses a controller in Evo, they all use fighting sticks but nice try in trolling.

Well, Capcom Cup Finals will be on November or December so i'm sure Sony will try to make the PS4 version the official one at least for that one, but yeah shouldn't be played in any tourney until they are 110% sure it works as it should.
@BigShotSmoov007:
Uhm.... didn't the Injustice top 8 last year at Evo consist mostly of pad users ?
What people use to play depends on the game and depends what consoles their using at the tournaments....
For Street Fighter IV....
Yeah you'l see a shit load of Arcade Sticks..... and the game was design optimally to be played with Fight Stick....... its a six button fighting game and if you're using a pad then your right thumb is responsible for 4 of them leaving your other finger responsible for two........ this is not optimal for a game with such a high execution barrier, and several button macros....... a fight stick on the other hand destributes the execution responsibility across your entire hand, you get six buttons and five fingers to handle all of them..... thats much much better........
Now lets look at another fighting game...... DoA and VF are 3 button Fighting Games, and on top of that its got a lower execution barrier too..... now I have yet to see some one use a pad on VF but its a heck of alot more viable than it is with Street Fighter..... as for DoA its got a crap ton of pad players in the tournaments.... it really stands out when you see someone lugging a fight stick around to play the Boob Simulator.

It's good you seem to know history of all other fighting game tournaments but no one used controllers for Street Fighter in Evo.....no one. All the top 8 uses fighting sticks.

Confirming the thing I fear the most.... :o
SF is not a very accessible game. :( even by its own genre's standards.
There are awesome fighters that use standard controllers. There are even videos of people out there beating all trials using the standard controller.
OT this is incredibly shameful for Sony and Capcom. People are blaming Capcom for this and its not their fault. Their only mistake was trusting their flagship franchise to a fly by night story game group. I'm starting to think that SF5 is going to be a disaster.
@bunchanumbers:
Yeah but the controller is still second or even third on the list of periphals that SF is designed for..... its the one thing you can bet every single gamer has but Capcom still designed the game for the select few who actually own a fightstick.
Its like living in a world were everything is designed for right handed people..... but the majority of people who occupy this universe is left handed.

Did Sony kick your dog? It obviously is Capcoms fault because they are the ones who ported a lazy version of SF4 over to the PS4. How else do you want to spin it?
@Heirren:
For a game like Street Fighter.... yep your stick will eventually break. I honestly don't get why the game needs such a intense input execution.
Get out noob ! You dont even know what you talking about ! I got a stick for over 6 years now and nothing happened to it as long as you dont overdo it ... Similar to PADS sticks.
Its not about intensity , its more like executions to be as precise as they can be and Sticks help on that way more than Pads as long as you can used to it.
That doesnt mean sticks are must have but its prefferable thats all.
@Lulu_Lulu:
You can play SF and still have with it. You can still be good just not EVO good cause you'll need that fight stick to reach that level.
@AzatiS:
Typical Fighting Game Elitist.
Not it doesn't have to be Precise the game does have a system designed to interpret you inputs and recognize what move it is it wants you to do even if you have 5 extra commands in your input..... what it doesn't do is allow you to perform the moves slowly..... this definitely applies to Street Fighter the most...... it will forgive you if you don't input the move exactly but it won't forgive you if you do it too slowly.......... the speed in which you wiggle and jiggle your stick is what causes the wear and tear on your controller regardless of how exact your commands are.

I believe he/she was inferring to myself using the 3DS slider.
I can't play fighters with anything other than a fight stick... just feels gross. If I must use a controller, it's a Sega Saturn usb pad. Sony and MS controllers? Might as well jerk off with sand paper.
@BigShotSmoov007:
Yeah but I find that kinda depressing.
Yeah I mean I'm going to download Ultra when they patch it on the PS4, I hear it's kinda bugging but SF games have always been geared to play best of fighting sticks. I"m good at most fighting games but I'm not where near as good as Evo players because I really don't want a fighting stick but it's a fun game to play anyways. Nothing to be depressed about if you really want it, you'll have fun regardless.
