Here is the deal. With all the kiddy games, mature games talk on the board I got curious to see an actual break down of the percenting of ESRB ratings for each last gen and current gen system. I rounded the numbers to tenths so you may want to give or take about 1 percent for each catergory.

E PS2 39.8% PS3 46.1 / GC 51.3 / Wii 67.3 /XB 37.0 /X360 39.0

E10+ PS2 26.0 / PS3 10.9 / GC 6.0 / Wii 16.8 / XB 4.5 / X360 14.8

T PS2 38.6 / PS3 26.3 / GC 34.8 / Wii 12.0 / XB 39.0 / X360 29.0

M/AO PS2 15.4 / PS3 16.4 / GC 7.5 / Wii 3.8 / XB 19.5 / X360 16.9

and for EC games only the PS2 and the GC had 1 each. That would be Dora the Explorer.

I used numbers from the ESRB website of rated games and did not speculate or include games that are coming out in the future that we all know will have a certain rating. No opinions, just straight math. So make of it what you want and twist the numbers to suit your fanboy needs....

Cleaned it up. Hope it helps

I used all the games listed by the ESRB which does include the VC games if I am not mistaken.

Yes... that should happen with pretty much all consoles out there, ever. Stuff like sports and racing games get E rather easily.

Try separating the numbers by putting slashes between them; it's somewhat hard to distinguish.

Good idea for a thread, but it's very hard to read. Clean it up a little.

E 39.8%

E10+ 6.0%

T 38.6%

M/AO 15.4%

X-Box:

This Gen

PS3:

E 46.1%

@TC; that's much better.

You'd think with this much clarification in the ESRB ratings system, those meddling politicians would shut up;they really need to be going after the permissive parents rather than the gaming community.

Wow the Wii really is E focused. Not that an E game is always a bad thing, but I like my games with a little more kick.

It seems to me that only the EC games really fit a "kid" discription because those are really simple games for kids. The rating of "e" is kind of vague because it does include alot of sports games that in themselves may not be violent, but are way to complex for young kids or those new to video games.

the Wii has one less M rated game then the PS3 at this point... the number of movie tie-ins bring the ratio down on the Wii.

Also comparing a system less then a year old to last gen consoles... (Both PS3, and Wii) and the full generation against what little current generation doesn't make much sense.
