Epic reveals new Unreal Tournament Weapon models *looks CGI*

The models already look CGI level and this is only the weapons. Note they are continuing updating these models as they continue to develop the game. Here a video of them talking about the weapons and showing a prototype map made by a modder.

Those models looks strikingly CGI. I think epic games wants the game to push their engine. The game hasn't even been developed for a year yet. I'm looking forward to what they show in the upcoming months.

I'm really looking forward to this. I love the business model they are using.

I love how they're using ut99's weapon design. Really gives a sense "remake" for a new era.

They said Unreal Tournament will be benchmark game for Unreal Engine 4.

Oh snap if anyone who can utilize the UE4 engine to the fullest extent its Epic Games themselves.

Do we actually know this for a fact or is this rumored? Because I'd think Epic was doing something in 2013.

They might have done some prototype stuff that they implemented in UE4, but I don't think it was anything significant. It was announced in 2014 that they were making this game with the modders.

@TigerSuperman: The new UT was officially announced June last year. it only began proper development at that time since they wanted to work with the community from the very beginning.

Which is why it's extremely unlikely that it'll release this year.

Yea highly doubtful but we most likely get to test a better build of it somewhere this year.

Finally Unreal Engine 4 is being put to good use by Epic no doubt. The weapons look more detailed than the last time they showed them. I can't wait for them to show their prototype character models. Wonder if they have any estimated release date.

I want to see some characters models that's probably the harder ones to make. Hopefully they are on par or better than the ones shown for the engine.

Waiting to see that stuff myself as well. Saw some concept arts, look pretty epic. Pretty sure, they'll try to make them look as good as possible, to showcase their engine. Not to mention, UT is not a multiplatform title, so...

Anything with "Unreal Tournament" has my attention. I'm excited to get my hands on this.

It's been awhile, hope they aren't to rusty.

I still play Unreal Tournament -- the original -- with a friend a state over online.

That reminded me of the bots. One thing i love about UT is bots. Even if one can't find others to play with in the future, there'll always be the bots for one to have fun with.

If modern online games still used them.

I'm going to try to build this week and see how it goes. I use to play UT all the time.

This game is already a huge amount of fun and it's barley even close to complete.

Too bad this isn't on PS4. I loved the Unreal Tournament series. Best FPS ever was UT 2004 in my opinion. Eventually I'll pick up this new one but it will have to wait till I upgrade.

As long as it plays like Unreal Tournament 99 and not Call Of Tournament then I'm good. And I have to figure out a way to Mod Motion/Pointer controls into this. That would make this a Must Have for me.

of course it will be using UE4 but what kind of graphics king can you expect on a console using a cellphone cpu and a 7770?

devs released the alpha build months ago and people have been playing it ever since. People aren't talking about it now since its still in alpha development,but once the core elements are finished and the modders start putting out levels it will get more attention.

saying it wont be finished till 2019 is very ridiculous

2019 was an exaggeration for saying it won't be released for a long time like Star Citizen and DayZ. If its only alpha, it may take year(s)

Well, I know at least a few of the million Call of Duties have bots. All of Valve's games have bots (including Dota 2). LoL, Nexuiz (a dumb tournament fps like unreal but dumb) also have them.

A lot of games have bots.

The game they are making isn't going take no more than a few years since there focusing on the MP. We can expect a beta in 2016 or even earlier.

And I agree with deadline -- most games are better because of them. Even if folks don't know it. My only real beef with Titanfall is that there aren't more modes that allow for players to coop against bots alone, with a setting to make some bots play more like humans (as it was in the good times with Quake 3/UT99).

Nexuiz was also really fun when it was first released in a stable form. Good times from long ago.

Well, it looks like I'm finally going to have to upgrade from my trusty old GTX 460.

I've had that card going on 5 years now and it still handles most games like a champ, but I think this title may be beyond its capabilities finally.

And of course Star Citizen.

I'm looking at the 970. How do people like it?

It's great. Just remember it basically only has 3.5 gb vram.

Probably the best card available for 1080p gaming though. No question.

I've been looking at some 1440p monitors and I can't imagine I'd have any trouble with 3.5gb vram. I've been using 1gb on my 460 at 1080p resolution and it still works fine. I'll have to check performance stats.

I was going to try the game out but passed until its further in development can anyone give me their opinion on it so far?
