Because Yoshi is da coolest, and he only needs to drive backwards to win
FireEmblem_Man

But Yoshi is idd the coolest, I always played as him or Koopa in super mario kart.

Red Engine is used in The Witcher 2
It is, but Source 2 needs to come. And Half-Life 3. WTF Valve......Valve's Source is also a good engine.

I'm sure that it's all happening behind closed curtains. Just wait. ;)
See the screen behind him?
Looks like HL3 to me.
All the stuff I've read about Crytek 3 show it's the best. RAGE's engine is too damn restrictive and not dynamic enough to be a solution for several developers.
Crytek's supposed flexibility and high quality are a good choice I think

Gabe doesn't want to release it unfinished like many developers out there. Give him time to polish it!
Oh good, for a minute there, I thought he was referring to Tech5.[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="BPoole96"]
I think he means Rockstar's Rage Engine (Rockstar's Advanced Game Engine)
BPoole96
Yeah id Tech 5 is a joke. Rage has some of the worst looking textures ever and the texture pop in is atrocious (although Unreal has it's fair share of pop in as well)
id Tech 5 has a lot of good ideas, but the hardware to pull off what they really wanted to do with that engine just doesn't exist yet. They would have been better of iterating on id Tech 4, but I think id has finally realized that the days of making a new engine for every game are over.[QUOTE="BPoole96"]

It will probably be the game to debut Source 2, then we willl get Left 4 Dead 3, Portal 3, TF3, etc

My 2 hour experience with id Tech 5 on Rage was that it was a PoS that couldn't even run properly on my semi-high end computer

You make a good point. OP is now updated :)
And I kind of expected to see more love for Frostbite, given how impressive the visuals are in BF3 with the scale and destructibility. And I can't wait to see what it does for Dragon Age III :) Though I voted Unreal mainly because of Arkham City and Mass Effect 2 and 3.

Yeah because he totally never realized there was a screen behind him, he never looked at the image before posting it online. They say it was actually Ricochet 2 you could see in the background, but they photoshopped it out because they want it to remain a secret.

Well visuals I would say CryEngine
Cross platform I would say Unreal
Developing judged from boh my experience, and games already out I would say Unreal
All around: Probably again, Unreal
Most futureproof: probablyCryEngine or Frostbite :)
I've been a big fan of the Unreal engine this gen, Frostbite got me excited for a little bit, that would probably be my 2nd fav engine.

Never played terranigma... *puts on list* FFIV (2 snes) is still my fav... but yeah man the mode 7 ff games are gaming nirvan.... all the technology we have today and im still more immersed in those worlds than modern gaming. Crazy.Honestly, none of these. I don't think there's a single game from theses engines I like. I prefer in house engines.
My personal favorites for the next gen are CryEngine 3 and Frostbite 2. CryEngine 3 will give Unreal a big run for its money. It's a fantastic engine that is extremely flexible and looks incredible. The Frostbite 2 engine has tons of potential. Once the next gen consoles come out, we'll really see it shine I think.
I wonder what Valve has up its sleeve for next gen. I'm sure they'll have something.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the world of Dragon Age will look like in Frostbite 2.

Mass Effect 4 and Mirror's Edge 2 will both use it.
There were a few levels in BF3's single player and DLC that looked like they came from Mirror's Edge and they looked fantastic. Makes me excited for a full blown sequel.
I'm quite fond of the engine Hitman Absolution is running on. Game looks like sex, aside from some weird bloom effects.

With Dragon Age, replacing the old engine with Frostbite2 is a great decision, because let's face it, the old one was total ass.But in ME's case, they had a good thing going with unreal that pulled off a fantastic look for the characters and the universe. I would file this under "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

It seems Crytek is pushing it's engine more for several games than Frostbite, so I think CryEngine will be the one to dominate.
