Earthbound Trilogy Remake May Be Coming to Wii U

Apparently, the description for the February issue of Game Informer has already been leaked on Amazon.com, and, er, it reveals something interesting. A bit too interesting. A remake of all three Mother games for the Wii U, called Earthbound Forever.

Cool if true. Never got to play the games, and after hearing all of that praise, I can't help but being interested.

Really hope this ends up being true. I only recently started playing Earthbound, and I've loved what I played so far.

If that does happen I'd think it would cost more considering Earthbound is $10 on the VC, and that's the only one officially translated.

Remaking the whole trilogy? On Wii U? That would be...odd. Seems like it would make more sense on the 3DS. But I'd be excited either way.

Probably going to happen, I mean leaks usually come true especially when Amazon is involved. :P Would be awesome, hope it's like those 3D models that I think was made in a fan-made project. I loved Earthbound on the VC, but I'm awful at it. Haven't gotten past the shopping mall in Fourside.

The WiiU on the other hand is going to need continuous first party support and a lot of fan service if it's going to keep console customers around in the coming years. This is a perfect fan service.

I doubt it. I think we will get a Release of the GBA games, but not a full remake.

Nintendo needs to take a long look at replies to this and realise what potential business they are constantly missing out on. I've heard Nintendo fans bang on about the Mother series for years and they've not responded.

This goes x10 for a console based full Pokemon.

This is one of this things that just makes me think: who actually still gives a ****? People have been asking for this for 20 years and Nintendo still won't do it. So why are people still getting hyped?

If it shows up one day (prediction: 2029) that's cool. But you are just setting yourself up for disappointment getting hyped about it. Ditto for FF7 HD Remake, Last Guardian, and all the other vapourware gamers insist on hyping.

Well, considering they put up Earthbound on Virtual Console even to Europe (where the game never officially released in it's original date), anything's possible.

Releasing an already existing and translated game to a new territory is nowhere near the effort of remaking/translating the whole trilogy. And I pirated that shit in 2003 or 2004. **** that, not waiting 20 years for Nintendo to decide I'm allowed play it. Lol, flashbacks to how much everyone used to hate Europe. You know we only legally got Chrono Trigger in 2009? And that was on DS, it was 2011 if you wanted a console version. And I still never got to play Trauma Team or Excitebots on Wii. Oh well, getting rambly and ranty now :P
