So live goes down a couple hours last night... I go into settings/network/Go Offline. I always do this on either console so it doesn't perform online checks when I'm playing a game.

Diablo 3 will not start... On either of my GTs.. One Gtag is setup as family.. the other is set as my home console. I'm like oh shit my new external HDD.. is it already broke? So I look at storage management it seems fine, I'm seeing all my games. Then I test a couple other Retail Disk games to see if that's the problem, they also work fine. I fire up Minecraft and D4... they work fine.

At this point... I'm thinking my Diablo 3 install must be corrupted. I'll just wait to see if it works when XBLG comes back up.. I didn't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling before testing that first...

Sure as shit live comes back up and the game works fine.....

Is this fucking Microsoft or Blizzard pulling this shit???

Have any of you, that own D3 on X1 had this happen..? Before I head to B.net and Xbox forums to give them a piece of mind?

Oh BTW... these console are fucking bricks without online.. Esp. X1 with all other 3rd party apps tied to Live to work. I mean come the **** on!!

not me personally. what i have noticed lately is that since playing AC unity, there is no menu to quit too, so when you shut down the console it just gets suspended. but a few times, once i have powered it back on, i have had to do full restarts to get it to launch a new game or app. not sure what does it, cause its not all the time.

I did the 10 second restart... 5 times..

If you have that problem and it has saved.. Just menu button on controller / quit on your home screen. In your situation.

D3 would even run... Splash screen/ black screen / Home screen.

I think certain games require internet to play doesn't matter what system you play it on and Diablo might be one of them. I know you can't play Destiny on the PS4 or X1 without internet connection.

It's possible. I thought D3 could be played offline though? Kinda weird... perhaps you should try and contact the Blizzard support staff.

That's expected considering it's an online only game.

Console Diablo III isn't "online only" on consoles. It works just fine with no internet connectivity on the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 4.

I guess the Xbox One is the exception, though I've never played that version so I can't confirm that.

@b4x: Well, since others are saying it's playable offline on other versions it may even be something on your end. Call them anyway, but perhaps reinstalling the game might fix the issue.

I remember during the ddos attack just signing in and playing a game was impossible. It was like my account was suspended. Then it just started working again. That's about the only run in I had with something like that.

I thought Diablo 3 can be played in offline mode.

Question: Does Ultimate Evil Edition still support offline playability?

Answer: Yes, offline mode is still supported through all versions/platforms.

I'm going to reinstall and re-patch. Before I go off the deep end.... I need solid conclusions first. If it is Microsoft Heil68.... the customer service rep, which I know it is not the poor basterds fault might have to take the brunt. /jk I never get pissy or mean to them.. I know it's not their fault. They are just some poor basterd trying to do their job. Remember that when talking to a customer service rep. . Be nice! :D
