Driveclub Finally Gets Dynamic Weather Tomorrow

jesus this shizz looks ridiculous. blows the doors off of pcars even more than it already did. theres even a shader for the windshield wipers wiping the drops of water across the windshield. the drops even move around depending on how hard/fast you turn your car. unreal!

May soon be worth a rental. Maybe after TWD Season 2.

It doesn't. A little to little to late if you ask me. They pissed off a lot of fanbase when they released the broken game and took almost 2 months to fix. If the game and server are truly fixed, why haven't they release the PSPlus version yet? I'll wait for it to hit the bargain bin at this point. Definitely not worth $60, that's for sure.

I agree it looks glories. At night with heavy rain and snow I 'm not even able to see the road, it just adds another dimension to the game.

@kinectthedots: Bought GT6 on black Friday for $20. I'm much happier with it than Driveclub.

game wasn't finished and still isn't...that is why it got a bad score. When and if it is actually finished/fixed it will be an amazing game

Graphically, that video looked very impressive. But I don't think I will get the game since I don't like racing games that much.

I am in the same boat however it gives us an idea of what the system can do, honestly those are the best graphics I have ever seen...PC included (please don't reply with PC specs and how much more powerful it is) optimization is king in this case

I think the game deserves a re review. Easily a 8/10

it scored poorly because it was broken and unfinished, like Halo

which is 100% fair, however both will be really good when and if they are ever fixed

Actually, on GS, it scored poorly because Kevin thought it was overly basic and uninspired.

GiantBomb gave it a poor score because they thought the game's handling was bad.

If it gives Cows a serious boner, then so be it. LOL

That's all they need anyway, Graphics >>>> anything else, even gameplay.

Did they fix the aliasing? Finally tried it and the graphics look smooth, I remember the game being way more jaggy before.

its showing what the system is capable of...nothing wrong with a game that pushes the hardware and there is also nothing wrong with appreciating good graphics.

i got my chance with it today. yeah the dynamic weather is a beast making it feel like a different game and sets the mood. Too bad they should have delayed 5Club until december instead when photomode and weather are done. It would have scored higher i would say at least a 7 at GS or maybe even an 8 depending how the reviewer feel about the insane looking weather.

Of course not. I love graphics as well. But that seems to be the overall mantra among Cows though, the most rabid & vocal among fanboys, regarding graphics and power. Very rare do you hear Cows praising a game based on gameplay alone. And this mediocre racer, 5Club, is just shear and unadulterated proof of their rabid mantra.

It's broken, inconsistant and punishing in many of the driving aspects, and yet even with an added weather feature, rabid Cows in here are praising it on a high pedestal. But why? Adding a weather feature isn't exactly going to make the game fun or rewarding.

If a Rotten Ribeye is cooked to perfection and presentation looks upscale to most professional chefs, like Gordon Ramsey for example, Cows would gnaw each other to death for a bite, even though the meat is putridly Rotten as hell.

Now that's sad.

Another proof is Killzone: SHALLOW Falls. LOL.

So when they said "we are doing everything we can to get the free version up and running" really meant "sorry we lied to you again, we had all our resources working on the weather".

Driveclub may be graphics king of 2014. And I play AC Unity at 1440p, maxed (minus AA) at over 60fps.

Just think what Driveclub would have scored if they delayed it to this week. The online may have worked and weather would have been ready. The handling and lack of customization would have hurt it still, but we would be looking at a 7 or 8 instead of a 5.

And what the hell were they going to release a year ago? I would love to see what that version looked like.

I didn't know they added more events a few weeks ago. I have to jump back into this on the weekend. I hope they add online events where racers are locked in cockpit view.

Like I said before it shows what the system is capable of...I don't think anyone is saying its the greatest game of all time. It is the best looking console game to date though and is much improved since its release date, my whole point was it could have been a really good game if finished.

I own all systems so don't even start with the fanboy stuff

I think I'm going to buy the game. Most people were arguing against it before the patch and I felt were missing what the lighting truly added. With the weather holy cow it looks unbelievable. I don't even see anybody trying to claim a pc game as better looking--it looks that good.

So the gameplay hasn't changed and only thing that has is adding weather effects? So this went from a lol5 to a 7 or 8 based on graphics? Doesn't matter that the gameplay stayed the same and was a huge reason it scored so low.

And cows wonder why they're considered the jokes of SWs.

GAF had an meltdown behind this update. I mean people who doesn't even play racing games is buying this game over at GAF because of visuals alone. Sony better not send the "updated" version of DC to demo kiosk if they ever want to "forget about this game". The visuals will definitely sell this game alone, seeing that most people are stating that this is the 1st game that officially screams "next gen" with visuals alone.
