Driveclub a Final Warning to FFXV fans

Dont expect an endlessly delayed game with staff shakeups to turn out to be any good. FFXV will be all over the place like Driveclub was

Mark my words, AA is the very best FFXV can hope for. It will likely be A or worse.

If your a FFXV fan do yourself a favor and stop looking forward to that game so much. You WILL be disappointed.

Well unlike Driveclub what we've seen of FFXV so far looks great, so your analogy sucks.

Drive club wasnt delayed nearly as long as ffxv. Plus drive club was still rushed out of pressure. Its doesnt even have some of its basic and main features included yet. Its a different story or should i say different club.

I'd have no faith in another FF game whether it was delayed or not.

Im not even a Final Fantasy fan but XV looks amazing. Hope the story is good, still not sold on it day 1 though.

Meh. I was never excited for VS.XIII in the slightest. It looked dumb from the start and it's directed by Nomura. Any minimal interest I had died back in 2010 after playing XIII. If they fell so far with the main series, I had no reason to believe a spin off from an even worse director would fare any better.

Now we're looking at a spin-off turned main series because SE had nothing else to show. A spin off that has been in development hell for far too long. A spin off with core mechanics based on an already mediocre franchise with shit gameplay. All of this hidden under a thick layer of Nomuras cheese dick designs.

Hooray for opinions, but it boggles my mind that anybody cares for this incoming disaster. It's going to be a disjointed monstrosity with inconsistently good graphics. That's about it.

You don't need anything from Driveclub to be apprehensive about FFXV.

How many games have gone through development Hell and come out as AA+? Rage, Duke Nukem, Driveclub, FF13 all failed, are their any examples?

@DarthaPerkinjan: 10 hours into DriveClub, cant put it down. Plus if you have a steering wheel its even more fun. magnificent game. Its an closed road simcade, not an open world drive Ferrari trough a forest and fields without off road modifications ( Horizon 2). Also, i mean honestly, who buys based on reviews any more. That ended with PS2 days.

Games these days can always be improved after releases if there are issues, back in the day it was not possible.

Does anyone (besides extremly blind fanboys) expect anything from Final Fantasy anymore? At least 13, 13-2, LR and 14 were all total crap. I would also add 12 to the list, but I can see some enjoying it.

In this entire gen Final Fantasy failed everything while Tales of delivered, Tales of is the new Final Fantasy :D

The PC gameplay has already gotten downgrades in an attempt to bring Sony fans down easy. Expect the same to happen.

Yea it being in development for so long does make it iffy on how it will turn out. I liked the recent FF offerings so im hoping I enjoy this one.

I've started calling it 'Final Fantasy Forever' to my friends.

i cant name 1 game that has gone through development hell and still turned out good. not to mention driveclub got a new director a few months ago

Nomura is not even the director anymore and Tabata has changed a lot of things about the game. The road trip, the bromance, the battle system... I hope there's more to the game than just that.

Driveclub on the other hand, what were you people even expecting really? We always knew the game wasn't open world, we knew the game wasn't a sim but not a full arcade either gameplay wise. We knew the game was lacking customization and that everything about it was going to be about the online competition. So why do people act so surprised by how the game turned out?

Even with those awesome graphics games gameplay didnt impressed me at all...

Now i have to see more ofc but the first signs werent THAT impressive for my taste. We have to see more and learn more about story and characters and all other things.

In case you haven't noticed, most genres are quite generic and hitting every stereotype out there right now.

I think FF15 looks great. I loved Kingdom Hearts. I love Final Fantasy. Have been waiting since vs13.

The game hasn't been in development hell though... The development of the game has been ignored. They built the trailer for the game when it was vs13 and then sort of maybe started building an actual game. It didn't actually reach full development until near the end of the generation. At that point they seem to have decided to just turn it into a next gen offering instead. While going through that change, I believe they also changed engines.

The only development hell for FF15 is big wigs forcing developers to focus on mobile ports of classics and hand helds while constantly shrinking the teams developing their console games.

Because, quite literally, the only glimmer of hope an entire faction of System Wars clings on to is something going wrong for the PS4.

Notice the dogpiling of DriveClub threads despite the lowest selectable score in the hype thread being the overwhelming winner? That's textbook desperation. It speaks for itself.

The difference is DC was designed to be a F2P title. FFVX is not.

Also I believe SE cares too much about the Final Fantasy series to let some hiccups in development stop XV from being great. They learned their lesson from XIV, they realized they f'd up the release and spent the time and money to remake it almost from the ground up... and A Realm Reborn ended up being great.

They will not f up another release of a main numbered Final Fantasy game.
