Shadow warrior 2
Doom 1/2 had fairly sophisticated level design, designed around exploration, be it mandatory keys or optional secrets. It also had lightning pace, the player was essentially ice skating across maps.
"Doom" will involve walking in a straight line 2 miles per hour with IGN hipsters wearing an outdated meme on their shirt claiming it's old school.
Shadow Warrior isn't exempt from this either, while it was fun and better than most of the shit today, it had very linear maps devoid of the original games exploration. making it repetitive about 2/3 in. It appears with the sequel they are opening maps up significantly, for that reason I would go with Shadow Warrior 2.
Shadow Warrior 2 by far. Looks epic. Level design looks amazing.

but new doom has atmosphere of doom 3 that was better than doom 1/2 plus gunplay also looks like best one since FEAR 1.
shadow warror 2 definintely looks better, more open level design and more faster.
I'm very excited for both games. Love old-school shooters. Perhaps that is not the right term for it. I'll say modern shooters with heavy old-school influences.
But Shadow Warrior takes the cake because I loved the first one. It'll improve on the melee and add co-op. Sounds like a done deal to me.
i also want Hard reset 2 to have open map design of shadow warrior 2. imagine how amazing it will be.

Oh you.
come on. doom 3 was lot of fun. its just not as fast as original and have different approach
new doom is combination of both games.

I definitely think Doom 3 got a bad rap. And compared to modern FPS, it's involved more than walking in a straight line. Played on nightmare it is a very good survival horror game rather than action, which is what people expected and wanted.
Aside from the name, it's not really a Doom game, it's basically Halflife mixed with System Shock.
Shadow Warrior 2, easily.
Doom 4 makes me think of Brutal Doom, and Brutal Doom is not Doom, it's wrong.
Good because brutal doom is best doom game.
Too early to tell. Also, two different games.
Flying Hog (makers of Shadow Warrior reboot, Hard Reset) does value software; that is, cheap video games made with unimpressive game engines. WIth that said, Shadow Warrior was value software done right; it was a fun game, and while the flaws that come with a cheap game engine and quick development were there, it was a really fun shoot em up.
Doom on the other hand is a AAA game and I expect more out of it, especially in the atmosphere and visuals department. Doom 3 was masterfully creepy and startling (scary is a little strong, as the game had lots of cheap scares/startles), and also had some story, lore, and good level design and atmosphere.
So for me at least, it is a bit of a toss up: do I want a game thats cuts to the chase and is a lot of fun, warts and all; or do I want a game that might come off a bit pretentious and disappointing, but is of higher quality?
Shadow Warrior 2. Loved the first one and the sequel looks like a solid improvement.
Doom hasn't exactly wowed me for now.

It was obvious that they lacked resources to make Shadow Warrior more open ended but seems like this time the case is different. You can clearly see huge improvement in almost every area. And "AAA" is just a buzz word these days.
Good game is a good game. I had more fun with Shadow Warrior's 15+ hours long campaign then any COD's 6 hours long campaign in years, despite COD having budget of over 200 million dollars.
Then there is Metro series which is also made by much smaller studio that suffered from power outage problems during their development but their games still had way better campaigns then the tacked on campaigns released by giants like EA and Activision.
I voted for Doom just slightly over Shadow Warrior 2. I didn't really think that SW1 was that great compared to the original.
EDIT : What we really need is a new Blood!
I'd pay $60 for Doom, Shadow Warrior was fun but no way would I pay $60 for the sequel, $40 though, maybe, though I'll probably hold out until it's $30 digitally.
SW 2 looks like a massive improvement over the first, Doom just looked kind of stagnant in comparison. I really hope the actual chainsaw doesn't work like a QTE.
Cant wait to see inner chains gameplay footage.

So excited for Inner Chains. They haven't shared much but what they did sounds really cool.
^^Look at the first pic from Motion Capture studio. It looks like melee weapon from Blood.
All of this powered by high end graphics of Unreal Engine 4.
