Doom Discounted to $20 at GameStop Right Now

Save $40 on the first-person shooter.

GameStop is currently offering one of the best deals we have ever seen on id Software's new Doom.

The store is now selling the first-person shooter for only $20 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via NeoGAF). Bear in mind that this price is for a physical copy, not a digital one, if that matters to you. GameStop also sells digital codes for Doom, but those are priced at $60. There is no word on how long the new deal will last, so if you're interested, you may want to act quickly. Go to GameStop's website to place an order.

Doom launched in May and was generally well-received, getting a score of 8/10 from GameSpot.

"Doom is the product of a tradition as old as shooters, and while it's not the model to follow in every case, modern shooters could learn a thing or two from Doom's honed and unadulterated identity," reviewer Peter Brown said.

Publisher Bethesda has not announced a sales figure for the game, but it was the No. 2 physical title in the US for May 2016 behind only Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, according to NPD.

Doom's first multiplayer DLC, Unto the Evil, launched earlier this month on all platforms for $15. The game also continues to receive new, free content. One such update arrived a few weeks ago and added two new modes and SnapMap functionality.

The game itself is fantastic, an absolute classic and thrilling to play. It is easily worth $20.

Still $79.99 in Canada :( I will definitely grab this game when it goes on sale around Christmas though.

$20.00 should be considered retail theft. The single player campaign was well executed. My only complaint with the campaign was how I liked the environment of the planet better than hell but even that was just a minor issue.

It's says for PC as well.

Just bought this digitally on X1 a few weeks ago for 30. It was a solid 7/10 game. I couldn't play more than one mission at a time because it was so repetitive. Still the fast paced, responsive shooting, along with secrets, and weapon upgrades, and mods to discover makes it a good game. Definitely worth 20.

@primorandomguy: That's a bummer. I did enjoy 3 a lot. i guess 20 bucks would be the perfect price ;)

I already own the game on PS4 but decided the price was about right for the PC double-dip. (I'm never accommodating my console friends again) THEN I saw the Collectors Edition was also heavily discounted... I pretty much just paid $50 for a statue and I regret nothing!

There was a better deal on Steam. It was 40 dollars for the Steam Controller, and you got Doom with it for free. Well, maybe it's not better, I'd say they were about even deals.

Why has Doom been so discounted after launch? There's been quite a few of these (not as good as this one obviously) and I can't imagine the game is selling poorly.

I also got it digitally for X1 at a sale, 25 US if I remember well. The game is good however I haven´t been able to play one single MP match since I bought it, it gets stuck in "waiting for another 3 players" no matter in which mode I try ( something I find discouraging since I liked the beta )

Any of you honestly owe it to yourselves. That's a steal for one of the best SP shooters in years. Multiplayer at that price is totally ignorable too.

So I got mine yesterday but it got to 4% installed and keeps stopping so I never played damnit. Anyone else having a problem installing?

@SecretPolice: Nope, I bought it yesterday as well and no problems installing. I never used the disk though, added it into Steam library and downloaded. Also, a big thanks on the heads up on the price, much appreciated :)

Yeah, I don't get it. Never ever had this problem before and will try again when I get home. If it still won't install I guess I'll go back to GS and see if they'll let me exchange for a new disk and see if that's the problem.

Damn I'm really trying to hold out for a Gears XboneS, but that's a hell of a deal there.

Picked it up today, the cashier was genuinely offended when I said no to buying a warranty and no to pre-ordering games. He then asked me what holiday games I was looking forward to, mentioned South Park and that I wished Yooka Laylee was coming this holiday. Didn't know what Yooka Laylee was.

Bought it at 30 from the Steam sale and found it was worth it. Probably one of the best shooters I've ever played.

It's a good game and $20 is a great price point.

Already bought and beat DOOM on the Xbox One and found every secret/collectible.

Damn great game though. ONly issue I could poinmt out is how some levels have point of no returns, which is a pet peeve of mine (let me explore the level/game at my own pace without having to glue myself to a gameFAQ, christ). Otherwise I had a blast with the game.

Does that include EB Games? Probably not... Canada blows.

Whelp, it wouldn't get past 4% again yesterday so I took it back to GS, they let me trade it out for a new box, got home, popped it in and Boom, I was playing Doom lol

Never ever did I get a faulty disk before and figured the chances extremely low. Anyway, I'm all good now and had about an hour with the game, me thinks I'm gonna like it a lot. :D

Luckily i did not run into this issue, but I heard it can happen.

I think I'm going to start a 2nd playthrough, I already got the collectibles however I want to unlock all the runes.

Picked it up last night. 17GB patch though ugghhh and my internet is slow so that's an entire day of downloading.
