AMD said that PS4 doesn't support hUMA, and i think that PS4 APU customizations (Garlic/Onion) might fulfill the criteria for supporting hUMA.

so is it realy true that PS4 dosent support hUMA or its a PR damage control to avoid damaging Xbox one reputation after AMD employee said that the difference is huge between XBO & PS4 thanks to hUMA

sorry for my english

neither the PS4 nor the Xbox one support this because what they have is already better. and this was discussed to death when both the PS4 and xbox 1 were released. where the hell were you then when EVERYONE was talking about it? you are so late to the game its baffling.

they really been quiet about their current gen consoles. They only tell us what sounds impressive on paper like lots of ram, Tflops and a shit ton of stream processors (1152 on the PS4) but nothing else. Not even the frequency are official numbers is mostly speculation and what some people has found through reverse engineering. There's lots of mystery, especially in relation to the CPU's since they are so weak even compared to last gen consoles.

@Gue1: both processors are still about 3x more powerful then what was in the last gen consoles. In relative terms they are the weakest part of the consoles.

Yes and no. hUMA was not truly finalized by the time the PS4 APU was being taped out, but it does use a version that allows the CPU and GPU to address the same memory locations. It's a kind of rough draft of hUMA which has the sum effect of what is intended which is to cut down the time between read and write on duplicated objects in memory from the CPU and GPU. The XBone does not and needs to clone objects in memory like a traditional console/PC.

Link.
