RYSE could be run on the PS3 at 720p with little to no graphical downgrades.

What a load of crap. AC4, Thief and Ryse on XB1 all look better and run at higher resolutions than any of the best looking games on PS3.

I'm sorry, but outside of Naughty Dog's games and Sony Santa Monica's games most PS3 games were not that impressive at all. Multiplats were the third worse versions usually (PC>>>>360>PS3). It's hilarious to me that some of you cows still think the PS3 is some kind of miracle supercomputer.

The PS4 is undoubtedly and provably more powerful than the XB1, but get real, the XB1 is definitely A LOT more powerful than the PS3 in every area, especially in terms of the GPU and memory.

Xbone is an inefficient monster. I'd say that 4 flops on the Bone are needed to match 1 flop on the PS3.

PC Tomb Raider looks better.

Maxed out at 1440p it looks freaking stunning, if a little on the bland side. Why would you even compare Ryse to a pc game?

I prefer the art direction of Ryse.

That's BS. My 8870M smacks PS3.

AMD GCN has out-of-order MIMD instruction processing while RSX's stream processors stalls during texture fetches.

AMD GCN's CUs has a real scalar unit to handle branch and scalar workloads while RSX has wasteful branch and scalar handling.

So f**k off.

LMAO um no, Tomb Raider on PC doesn't even look as good as the PS4 version. Buh buh its got teh tesselation. It also had almost no foilage and it has a static forrest which looks horrid compared to the next gen console versions.

Is that why the 900pStation has trouble running games in 900p and still can't reach the level of 2010-2011 PC games? Looks like the cheap ass tablet CPU and GPU barely matching a 570 from 2010 just can't keep up.

Oh and your tablet doesn't count as a gaming PC.

well here's the thing, pc gamers can play tomb raider at 2560x1440 with 4xSSAA which equals to 5120x2880 res... your beloved consoles would've took a suicide trying to render that.

Lara's face is creepy in Tomb Raider. And it has nothing to do with what system it is playing on, the Artists who drew her, must have a hard time with faces (just like I have a hard time with...well ART in general :D )

Outside of resolutions and frame rates they couldn't be better on pc. Even the PS3/360 is capable of making any game without dubbing down the gameplay.

and yet DF couldn't really say the definitive version was truly superior to the PC version

"Running with the ultimate preset enabled and the original TressFX in action, it's clear that the Definitive Edition delivers an upgrade in select areas, but fails to trump the PC game in all respects. Certainly, when it comes to running at 1080p60 - or with even higher resolutions and frame-rate - no other platform can truly offer a PC-beating experience.:

The PC has advantages while the PS4 version has others. The fact that a $400 dollar console has multiple advantages over a game that can run on a platform with endless configurations is quite impressive. If resolution and frame rate is mainly what matters to you then by all means buy the pc version. If you want the overall best looking game and don't want to build a beastly rig to do it , just pick it up on the PS4.

That's pretty subjective. From an art design and motion capture standpoint, Ryse is superior. From a purely technical standpoint, Tomb Raider wins. Tomb Raider on max with 3D was one of the most impressive graphical experiences I've ever had.

why are you such a massive dick that you post screenshots of cut-scenes from tombraider, then compressed shots (from youtube probably) of Ryse gameplay?

butthurt little baby all because killzone doesn't look as good as Ryse.....hahahaha

Compressed screenshots from YouTube? You can't be serious. They're direct-feed from DF's Ryse article.

Nope it doesn't. Should I link to the Deep Downgrade? As far as I know BF4 is 900p, Crapzone: Shadow Fail's MP is even less than 900p and the Order is 1920x800 which means it has only 6.7% more pixels than 900p and runs like a slide show. TADA 900pStation has trouble running games when it's not even out for one year and developers are cutting corners here and there and still can't match the PC games released in 2011. And damn the last two games were from the Sony first party. :D

And I agree the gap will only get widen from here on when in 5 years the 900pStation becomes 720pStation while PC gamers will game in 4K@60 FPS.

I'm sorry the cheap ass tablet CPU in the 900pStation and GPU barely matching a 570 from 2010 can only do so much.

By the way, I forgot to tell 570 can run BF4 in 1080p but the 900pStation can't. LMAO.

I'm no major fan of the Xbox One but Ryse is a good looking game, I have actually played it, but it's a Crytec tech demo game. Tomb Raider maxed on PC blows in out of the water.

TR maxed, is definitely in the top 10 for graphics (imho)
