Does FPS matter at the moment?

With all this talk of PS4 having higher frame rate than Xbox One should we care at the moment, Or should we see this as a sign of things to come. Personally I think not as they are new hardware and people need to learn how to use them then we will finally see the Xbox One catch up to the PS4 or even over take it. Plus a lot of people can't tell the difference between 60fps and 30fps anyway. So we should we be concerned or not?

Noone cared last gen..If it means games wont cost gamers more Im fine with how things are. We demand more from Devs and they will demand more in return.

Even a Sega Dreamcast can handle 60 fps. What system are you talking about?

Why would the xbone catch up or even overtake the PS 4? Are you saying the PS 4 is easier to develop for and that it's full power is already being utilized?

Tests have shown that we can see as much as 200 fps. Anyone whose played at 120fps on a 120hz monitor knows it's easily distinguishable from 60 fps.

You know very well what system im talking about. The next gen system that is also in love with 720p in 2014.

If it's on a system you like, then you don't care if it's lower. If it's on a system you dont like then it's incredibly important if it's lower, you also get bonus points if it's a higher FPS on the system you do like and lower on the system you don't.
