Do you think Shadow warrior 2 will be better than Doom?

They are very different games.

Shadow Warrior 2 looks like Borderlands if it was good.

Dont know, but I recently started playing Shadow Warrior 1 on XOne, and I was surprised as to how good it was. I couldn't believe they used the Touch from Transformers in the opening, such a cool reference.

Anyways, mechanics are great fun so the 2nd could turn out awesome too hopefully, I could see it being as good as DOOM...but better? I dont know, DOOM did what it did exceptionally well, so I think SW2 is just going to be a different kind of game. They just feel different to me.

I got stuck on Shadow Warriors first boss and haven't played it since. Was pretty fun up until then.

Think it looks too unfocused. Filler fluff and RPG stuff no good for action! It will be an enjoyable game still.

I think it if has more varied locations and encounter designs it could be.

DOOM's mechanics are great but its a bit repetitive

A massive turn off for me is the amount of melee combat in the game.... I have yet to see a actually good melee combat system done in the first person perspective.. Melee combat in fp games feel extremely floaty and clumsy at the best of times.. Not to mention incredibly limiting with the fact that your stuck facing forward and cannot turn your head or other such things.. Which you can quickly lose sight of your enemy and become disorientated due to your fix vantage.

Shadow Warrior 2 would probably be more popular but because of the Doom series rep I think it won't be the case.

I honestly think there's more to do with the rpg elements and the random map spawns change the game but some people don't.

I actually barely used any melee combat in the first game. It's entirely possible to play it using pretty much nothing but guns.

EDIT: Oh, I misread you and thought you said the first game. Yeah, I haven't been keeping up on the sequel too much, but it'll be a turnoff for me as well if it requires substantially more melee combat.

Try Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, man. It's even possible to switch to third-person perspective in that game, if you don't fancy the first-person perspective much.

I have.. Melee combat is still crap.. It does not work well in a first person view and the only way I can see it work is with VR.. With VR you can turn your head.. With VR you have actual depth perception..

The Shadow Warrior remake was just terrible and the trailers of the sequel look very similar, so no.

Alright. I think it's decent, and a very fun game - but there's definitely a learning curve to it.

I played Shadow Warrior. I was not thrilled.

I played Doom (2016). I am consistently thrilled.

I cannot see Shadow Warrior 2 surpassing Doom (2016).

shadow warrior 2 will have quick saves unlike checkpoint system. that alone make me think it may surpass Doom.

Lol, no. The fundamental core gameplay hasn't changed at all (and why would it? People enjoyed the first game).

DOOM is amazing, the game feels like a 90s shooter.
