I didn't mind it. Then again, I bought it new for $30 at a clearout. Then I bought some games for it online and they were dirt cheap too. I was very young at the time and I liked it. Teleroboxing, Warioland, and Tennis were standouts.
I have a Virtual Boy and I enjoy it. It's a pain sometimes from an ergonomic perspective but I've never had any headaches or eyestrain. Virtual Boy Wario Land, Mario's Tennis, Mario Clash, Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer, Nester's Funky Bowling, and 3D Tetris are the games I have and they're all good. It was really poorly presented by Nintendo. It should not have been marketed as a portable or a virtual reality system because it was neither; it was a tabletop stereoscopic 3D system. It should have come with an AC adapter and every system should have come with a multiplayer link cable standard. They never even released a link cable and as a result there's no multiplayer games on the system. Given the popularity of LAN parties in the mid to late 1990s I think a system marketed as a tabletop system that is meant to be stationary but easy to carry along could have found a following. Games like Mario Clash would immediately have benefitted from multiplayer and each player having their own display could have been awesome for games like Mario Kart (which was in development for the system but ultimately canceled).
