Do Exclusives matter when buying platform?

PC, Ps4, X1, Wii U, Ouya, whatever floats your boat, do they matter when you buy or build the platform of your choice or do you buy it for the overall experience? I would like to know. Is it just the games you can buy on that platform that matter or do third party games dictate more?

In the age of commoditized multiplat third party software, exclusives matter more than ever.

Well I was exclusively an Xbone owner waiting for an excuse to buy a ps4.....an unmissable exclusive was going to be that excuse. After the 5club failure and the 18,066 seconds drama's I decided the PS4 could take a run and jump for another 6 months and bought a WiiU instead.

Its got a pretty decent catalog of highly rated games plus the huge Ninty back catalog (of which I have experienced very little).

I see very little reason to own both Sony and MS machines.

They do, but overall library matters more. Of course exclusives contribute to that.

I would still buy a new console for just 1 game if it was good enough (waiting on Scalebound and Banjo now), then I would get other games after that.

Exclusives are usually the highlights of every gaming generation looking back for me.

Exclusives matter. That is why I chose Xbox. PS4 has some great exclusives too, in the 5/10 range.

That's the big reason why I bought my Wii U, all those exclusives. But I haven't just bought exclusives for it, I've got quite a few multiplats for it too.

No, Pad Preference and where your friends are at are what matters, next is the company, then the exclusive (at the very very last)

Along with XBL & the controller, 343, T10 & Rare IP's are the main reasons I went with X1 so yes, matters to me.

I don't give thought to any system. When I'm in a store, all I look at is games. If there's one I want, I'll buy the respective system needed. Simple.

Yes and no. Yes because i couldn't miss on games such as Bloodborne when the Souls series is in my top three fav series ever. No because the large majority of exclusives are worst than third party.

Only would matter to me if I really really wanted those game(s). Otherwise no. But I buy all the consoles so it's never been a problem for me. This gen they are more important than ever because they decide if I buy an X1. The ball is in your court MS......take a shot.

FIrst I buy the system(s) with the exclusives that I absolutely must have. Then I'd purchase a system with the overall best game library. I don't really have a serviceable gaming PC so I have all 3 consoles.

Yes they do for me. If they didn't exist, I would be strictly a PC player probably for all the multi-plats.

when it comes to either an X1, PS4 or the WiiU yes the 3rd party support is important. Between X1 and PS4 it is the games the other cant play, so I own both

This. I bought RE, CoD, Deus Ex, Rayman, Injustice etc. on it. I'd be Wii U only if it had all the same multiplats that X1/PS4 get. Couldn't care less if they had to reduce resolution/graphic settings.

As of two days ago I own all three major consoles. I can get my Smash fix on one, I'm having a good time with Infamous on another, and I just had a hell of a time last night with Halo. I can't wait for Zelda U, Uncharted 4, and Halo 5.

While I play a ton of multiplats, if a console only had those I wouldn't pick up the others and would instead just settle with one. But it's because of exclusives, exclusives that I love, that I have all three.

I need a PC because it has games I can't find on consoles, but in terms of consoles there's usually 1 or 2 decent exclusives a year at best so its not really a factor in which supporting one I choose.

For my primary platform, it doesn't matter. I would buy Xbox consoles even if they didn't have any exclusives just because it is my preferred platform to play multiplats on due to its controller and online service.

For the additional consoles that I buy, exclusives matter otherwise I would just stick with Xbox and not get anything else. I buy Nintendo and PlayStation consoles only for their exclusives.

In what regards does it fail? Sales? Over 3 million, Score? 9/10. It also has constant updates with new game modes and content and the community continues to populate it and play.

They matter in e sense that they are part of the overall library, but I don't assign more importance to an exclusive than any other game I'd pick up for the platform. So for a console I'd include exclusives im interested in along with any other games I'd play on a console instead of my PC.

As a PC user, exclusives are the only reason to ever get a console, barring some rare titles like diablo 3.
