Those who own a digital PlayStation 3 copy of Dishonored will get the upcoming remastered version for half price on PlayStation 4.
Digital preorders for Dishonored: Definitive Edition went live on the PlayStation Store today. Alongside the$40 version that was previously announced is a $20 Definitive Edition upgrade.
While Bethesda hasn't officially announced this option, the listing explains that owning the digital PS3 version of Dishonored entitles you to this discounted PS4 version. You'll only be able preorder this if you're logged into an account that owns Dishonored on PS3. At the same time, owning the last-gen version prevents you from purchasing the $40 version, as the $20 option is the exact same game.
It appears this deal is available even to those who own PS3's Dishonored through PlayStation Plus. The game was a freebie back in April.
We've followed up with Bethesda to find out if it will offer a similar discount for Xbox One players who own the Xbox 360 version of Dishonored. We'll report back with any details we receive.
Dishonored: Definitive Edition was announced for Xbox One and PS4 at this year's E3. Due out on August 25, it offers improved visuals and all previously released DLC. We also learned the first details about Dishonored 2, which is set for release next spring on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Pretty decent deal since the definitive version comes with all the DLC and the discount applies to people who own the game through Playstation Plus as well.
I sold my 360 version after they announced this. As much as I loved it the console just couldn't run the game with what it deserves. If only I had a pc right now.
That's a pretty good deal. Didn't play it last gen so I was looking into buying it so I wish I had the PS3 version. Never really see the point in buying a remastered though if you already owned and played it on the pervious consoles but money off something is always good.
@SolidGame_basic: I skimmed over it but I have trouble with Italics and it makes it easy for my eyes to skip over lines. Now that I looked at it again, the answer is there plain as day. LOL, sorry about that.
If it truly does, I'll be more enticed to pick it up.

@lostrib: I thought it was known they already said all their games will be BC. Fallout 3 will be. Maybe they're only allowing Fallout 3 for now, but that doesn't make sense.
@primorandomguy: You are getting FO3 when you get FO4.
Thats not the same thing as BC.
It's like buying Bayo 2 and getting Bayo 1 on the WIIU where Bayo 1 never came out.

It baffles me that this and prototype are on newer consoles.
I didn't see any demand, and they looked ugly when they first came out.
I don't think Dishonored is ugly, it's just that while the art style itself is stylish it just doesn't feel all that cohesive on one end, and on the other end it comes across with no real purpose other than to be stylish to mask any technical short comings that studio would have had.
It's influences visually are obvious, but the influences it had ultimately created a more cohesive setting. Prototype is just butt ugly, there is no getting around it.

I thought it was pretty ugly, even playing it on a PC at 1080p @ 60fps.
The only thing that looked decent were the character models. The actual environments have very basic lightning and low res textures. Other Unreal Engine 3 games at the time like Bioshock: Infinite and Spec Ops had interesting art styles, but they also looked quite decent on the technical front.
