Developer sees shittiness of 3DS, moves to other systems

Like Renegade Kid’s Dementium and Moon, Cult Country was originally headed to a Nintendo handheld, but Renegade Kid said it has grown beyond the scope of the 3DS."

It's unfortunate to think how many potentially great games have been held back by the 3DS' putrid hardware and system design. Even Renegade Kid, who supported the Nintendo DS, has moved on when it comes to their new projects. At least there's Moon Chronicles, right 3DS fans?

"Currently, Renegade Kid wants to publish Cult County on Steam, Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita."

Glad to see them supporting the Wii U. It will be interesting to see if they reach their kickstarter funding goals ($560,000 if I am not mistaken).

And apparently Wii U will be the lead platform. Regardless, I doubt the game will be any good. I'm looking forward to Treasurenauts from them more than this.

So they just increased the budget from $50,000 to $5,000,000 (at least).

I was very interested in this game, when it was coming to 3DS, which has no games remotely like this. The graphic shortcomings necessitated by the hardware didn't bother me. I was excited to see the potential of a first-person game on a 3d console.

PS4 and Morpheus will have numerous games very much like this, and I'm interested in some of them. But this is just another among many, and it doesn't really stand out from the crowd.

Indeed, 3DS is a weak POS console with a couple of good games.

Still one of the weakest handhelds ever released in terms of design and gaming library. And lol at the 3D gimmick.

But the 3DS is awesome.

Shame Cult County won't be on the system, though. I thought it looked interesting, at least. Although not the story. the story in both Dementium games made no goddamn sense at all.
