I no this game is a MMO type game but I also seen that you can play on your own. Just how long is the single player story?. Thanks.

@skipper847: It's not going to be long. If the beta was any indication, if you just want to rush through the story you will probably complete it in 15 hours or so. Destiny, like most other MMO type games doesn't actually start until after the campaign is finished.
That said. I played the beta alone for the most part(as there is no matchmaking, text chat or voice chat(unless you're in a party)). It wasn't a fun game alone. The fun part of the game is the coop and raids. If you're going to play alone I would recommend skipping Destiny.
Next time you make a thread, take a good long look at what you're asking before hitting that button.
What is so wrong with it?. I am just asking how long the single player is as its mainly a MMO?.

I don't know, maybe the game hasn't released yet and won't for another few weeks or so.
No one actually knows cause we didn't get that far in beta, it's also a whole different story when you count replayability which can differ from person to person (is getting this extra/stronger weapon worth it ect ect).

It's nothing like a MMO. I know console gamers are not experienced in the genre, but trust me it's not a MMO. Even for console standards.
Sp will be as generic as it gets. Hack a computer while door is slowly opening and waves of enemies are attack you is what you'll see 70% of the time. In co-op, even simplistic crap like this could fun on Legendary but solo it'll be a chore im certain
@skipper847: We don't know how long the main "story" of Destiny is however Bungie feels Destiny is about more than just beating the final boss:
"Investment is not about experience points, it's not about item drops, it's about having an enduring attachment to a game and to a community so that, that community can exist and thrive," he said. "If you unlock new abilities and you give people different weapons that are balanced but different, then those are valid rewards that don't change the game or ruin the game but they broaden the game, they give people more interesting opportunities, they give people more varied experiences."
"The goal isn't to make you want to play the game for a thousand hours," he said. "The goal is so that you have this game that you come back to and that your friends come back to, and when you're all coming back to the game, and you all feel like you want to keep playing this game. Then you have a social game at that point. You actually have a cooperative experience, a community experience."

@Blabadon: What the hell is up your ass, someone asks a question and you jump down their throat for no reason? Calm down
I wouldn't recommend playing this game by yourself. The missions in the beta felt very co-op focused and ended very abruptly.
