Anybody think this might actually end up at minus 80? Maybe an actual 7 from Kevin VanOrd?

The Giantbomb 3/5 is the only review there so far that holds any weight with me.

Yes, Destiny is a critical flop. Doesnt make me enjoy the hell out of it any less.

I agree with most flaws pointed out such as the repetitiveness of the mission structure and the lack of an engaging story/lore but its gameplay is just so satisfying and intuitive that makes me hooked everytime I kick the disc in. Seeing my character turning into a badass mofo is great. Destiny could have a 0 for all I care. 10 hours into the game and I dont see myself leaving it anytime soon.

Seriously though people really bought in the hype with this game. I imagine that Bungie are already celebrating over sales, review scores should be the least of their concerns.

I'm also happy that Activision has apparently not payed for Giantbomb to give an overly positive review. Let's see what GS gives.

Where are all these cows now saying Halo 4 was garbage without Bungie? Last time I checked 87 > 74. This is even worse than Halo Wars or Halo 3: ODST.

Dam bungie has fallen. Their last game (halo reach) pulled a 91 on MC. 343 pulled an 87 with halo 4. At this rate i doubt it gets in the 80s

@Salt_The_Fries: Easy son. There's still dozens fo reviews to come. I just found this really, really funny. It's not an exclusive to the PS4. If anyone should be laughing, it's pc gamers, after console gamers hyped up Destiny.

Regarding Sony, i'm pretty sure they're far, far more concerned with how many units the game will move. And it's quite a few. Probably more so than Titanfall. I'm sure MS would also love the marketing deal.

I don't understand a lot of hate for the game considering they had an open beta. No one should be surprised at how the game ended up. Personally, I enjoy the **** out of the game and it's my favorite console shooter. That being said, for everyone who stuck their head in the sand and didn't give the beta a try, all they had to go on was hype but that is their own fault.

Oh well. Let the dogpiling commence. No game will ever be all things to all people. The days of FFVII levels of universal agreement in gaming are long long over no matter how much a games marketing budget balloons.

Actually, I hate FFVII and think it killed the series and it is the epitome of everything what is wrong with games in general, and back in the 1990s reviewers were a lot more divided than they are now, still, though it's nice that AAA budget doesn't warrant an AAA score anymore.

Destiny only has one thing going for it and thats the hype.

Its halo on PS4 thats why people are going crazy.

No, it isn't. Actually, I've been thoroughly unimpressed with Destiny from the get-go, and I'm not bitter about Bungie leaving Microsoft, either. I've recently played Halo: Reach - which in my memory was the best Halo game I've played - again and I got to say I now prefer Halo 4 to it. There are too many Cows spreading too much misinformation about all things Xbox here AND NO ONE CARES. SMH.

They are not gonna skyrocket to the 80s and you know it. I know it's bound to CHANGE somehow, but 80s it won't be.

I ain't mad atcha. I encourage gamers to have different tastes. It keeps the developers and publishers on their toes. In the grand scheme of things, Destiny only got a 500 million dollar budget because it was a safe bet. Let's be super honest here. Bungie+multiplat+scifi FPS = printing money.

In the grand scheme of things, if the game gets tanked reviews and stirs the pot a little bit.. It only means better things for my tastes in the future. I like the game a lot, despite being a console FPS (For the record, FPSes not played on KB/M generally make me vomit). That being said, as a long time RPG gamer and a fan of weird crap like Katamari Damacy, gen 7 was a massive letdown because all the money went to these FPSes and GTA (clones).

So, don't get me wrong here. I won't *defend* Destiny. All I can say is I like it. Was it worth the whole industry putting its eggs in that basket? The money will say yes, but the fallout from the fan reaction and reviewers may say No. As long as we're willing the be honest here and say this is Titanfall Pt 2 of 2014, then you won't catch me with my jimmies rustled.
