Desperados III announced by Mimimi

As a big fan of the original Commandos and Desperados, I was positively surprised by how well Mimimi's 2016 game Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun managed to emulate the formula.

Even more to my surprise it was announced today that Mimimi is working on a game in the same genre, a sequel to the Desperados series.

It looks to take a lot of elements from their 2016 game that was set in Feudal Japan:

Desperados III is set for a 2019 release.

This is the only Desperados 3 I'm interested in

Shadow Tactics was one of the best games of that year, and barely got attention.

It was bullshit, and a disgrace.

Commandos in wild west? im in.

I'm not sad for all the people that didn't play it. I'm happy that I did play it.

Yeah that's what it basically is. The first desperados was amazing. A very enjoyable and creative game.

It was good but its camera system was just mess. and not a fan of that setting.

although if more games like these are made. they will get attention.

there will be new commandos too.

Mimimi would've been perfect but I'm already very happy they are working on Desperados now.

Same devs as shadow tactics? Double pleasant surprise. They will do this game justice.

Watching the gameplay. it seem like they reused same assets from shadow tactics. everything looks exact same but in different skin.

Well since Shadow Tactics/Commandos/Desperados are all based on the same blueprints, I don't really see the big issue.

Seems much more desperate than desperado to me. :P

I didnot liked feudal japan setting and wild west is one of my fav so i will like this one more.

I'm also happy with the change in settings, it'll allow for new gameplay possibilities.

But I did enjoy the Feudal Japan setting.

Games that even ask a little from the player and don't play themselves aren't too popular for the most part.

I don't mind hard games, as long as they are fair.

Shadow tactics was definitely one of the most fair games I've played.

They should have shoehorned in some sjw shite. A black Japanese woman. A disabled Ninja. A transgender rice field.

Media would have been all over that shit.

If you like commandos you should definitely check out Hard-west it’s basically commandos in a Wild West setting!

I love the art style. Good to see real development efforts coming from Russia. The partisan side of WW2 has always been an interesting story to me. I was introduced to it through the film Come & See.

Artstyle reminds me of another upcoming game: Iron Harvest.
