Death Stranding has gone gold and best of all, does not require PS+ for multiplayer features!

Nice turn around, took 3 in-a-half years and I'm sure Guerrilla Games engine helped quite a bit from Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Also, Taken from: PushSquare Death Stranding will not force gamers paying PS+ for the online activities which is good, because I was gonna skip the online portions of the game and play it offline but I'll gladly try out the online features now.

Don't know what System Wars thinks of Death Stranding but I'm looking forward to it since I do love anything with sci-fi after all. Not hype but intrigue what I'm seeing so far.

This game has multiplayer features? Like pvp combat or is it Bloodborne/Dark Souls like?

Like that but the entire game seems to be built around that. U can use other players equipment, building, vehicles, bridges they made etc... There is even enemies that steal players packages you can recover. There is social currency "Likes" that other player and you get for sharing those things.

To be honest the extent of how the world will transform through these things may save this game. It may at least make it interesting IMO.

@phbz: I would strongly advice on not pre-ordering it unless you know this is the type of game you will play from start to finish and wait for reviews before you buy.

I think it's extremely unlikely physical copies will sell out and digital copies can't sell out. No reason to pre-order unless it's a limited collector's edition.

@davillain-: The game is weird enough that I have to try it. And reviews for any Kojima game are pretty useless IMO. I'll play it and make my judgement.

@phbz: Yeah, that is the only way to know for sure if you like this strange game or not. I don't feel like immediately shelling out 60 USD, so I will watch a lot of youtube videos of actual gameplay and read a lot of reviews.

They required PSN+ for online for both Bloodborne/Dark Souls.

As for DS MP features, I don't know if it'll be anything similar to MGS online back on PS3. It has something to do with leaving items behind for other players to pick up by previous owners from what I seen so far.

I wish I can eat the mushroom in this game... Maybe, the mushroom gives Norman Reedus a stat bonus?

Other players can create the mushrooms or just collect your own mushroom. Eventually, through signs and directions we can create a huge mushroom field.

It doesn't just have to be only one mushroom field, they can be multiple field with other players both collecting and creating new mushrooms.

Yeah I wouldn't want to pay for Plus to have that.

You do the same thing with anything Xbox related.

Good to see. I'm not really hyped at all for the game, especially after that 50-minute~ reveal, but i'll certainly give the game a shot.

There's been a fundamental misunderstanding revolving around this game and its online functions.

This is not saying you don't need PlayStation Plus to play the game online, it's telling you it's not required to simply play the game. It's telling you If you want to play online a PlayStation Plus subscription is required and is sold separately, if you don't want to play online PS+ is not required to play the game.

I'm just curious more than anything else the multiplayer looks just tapped on to me. The whole world looks empty but I'm still interested to see what its all about.

I will give Kojima the benefit of the doubt since he did make Metal Gear Solid but this will require several reviews and user opinions before I decide on whether I get it or not.

Well I'm happy. It costs a bit to pay for the broad band provider anyway so I'm glad it's free. The game looks inretesting would like to see the online tie in with the dynamic.

I am still iffy on this game, but I won't bother until it comes to PC or at least play it on PS5. I won't waste time with a 30fps version.
