Can't wait for his first PS4 game. Should look great and have a good story like his other games.

I honestly don't find it that outlandish a remark. It won't surprise me if we see Jumps during the lifecycle in image quality, it really shouldn't surprise anyone.

It's his engine and standards he is speaking from when talking about what he can do with PS4, why is it a ridiculous statement?

His new project might flop or look terrible but you can't second guess a developers word on his own work until proven otherwise, that and the fact that people have said that Beyond on PS3 is the best looking PS3 game (which automatically means it looks better than anything on xbox360 as well) to date.

Can you cut more gameplay from Beyond 2 soul? :o I don't think so.

Also a tech demo is something you expect from a console, which suppose to use moderate resource to impress. To say that it is the bare minimum quality that you can expect from the console is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that his game is gonna run at 30FPS max anyway.

Uncharted: 8.0

Uncharted 2: 9.5

Uncharted 3: 9.0

TLoU: 8.0

Average: 8.625

What a shame... and if you include UC Golden Abyss for the Vita (ND were only overseeing the development), it'd go even lower... :(

Well...I believe him, I mean look at his past tech demos and compare them with the full games produced.

Heavy Rain looked better than The Casting tech demo.

Beyond looks better than the Kara demo.

Metacritic should be fair game (I think Beyond's low score is a sign of how much crack the game press is snorting on a regular basis btw). Even Gamespot's new review style reflects that there is one reviewer/source worth listening to on the planet.

I don't get it either. People say his writing and stories are bad but I don't get it. Compared to what? Walking Dead has it's fair share of cheese and melodrama yet people label that as like the best written game in the history of mankind.

I hope they aren't saying that they'd take a David Cage game, compare it to AAA stuff like Call of Duty, Skyrim, Gears of War, etc and say that the writing and acting of David Cage is the one that's coming up short. That's laughable.

Even for TV, it's not competing with the best of the best from HBO and AMC but it's on par with or better than pretty much anything NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox has done in the past decade. The hate is both ridiculous and baseless.

Actually the minimum quality would be something more akin to Pong. It's easy to see right through the marketting jargon and "clever" use of the word "minimum."

Just the usual idiot trolls who only want games with triggers, steering wheels, swords and plumbers jumping over rainbows.

That demo wasn't runnign anything other than the renderer + animations.

Show us an ACTUAL game, where there's pathfinding and AI, and physics calculations, and simulations + predictive algorithms ALL running.

This is just so Dumb Mr Cage, I know that you are technically wrong making such a statement, that something as complicated at the dark sorcerer is the minimum quality. That's just absurd.

But it's OK. I think I know what Mr Cage is trying to say. I think he's saying:

"If you liked the Dark Sorcerer, well, better put a diaper on, because we know we can improve from here. This is the quality anyone should be able to achieve - even at this early stage of the gen"

In terms of the renderer, yes, they will. I mean they cna always scale back in reoslution and frame rate and improve things a bit here and there, but this is it.

The only improvement we haven't fully seen yet, is compute. And we don't know how that will end up being used int he future, but it's not likely to improve the 3D rendering much more than what we see here, and what we see in upcoming titles in 2014.

Seems it is not only cows who refer back-and-forth to Metacritic.

The problem here is that people hate his games and take his quotes out of context to make him look bad. Like for example when he said that that more polygons more emotion.

Jim Sterling made an entire video ridiculing him by simply misquote him. But what Cage was talking about was about the fact that by just looking at the face of the old man you could see many little details in the facial animation that make him look more alive, more expressive. But he never said anything that the only way to show emotion was through more polygons or better image quality like Jim Sterling says in his video. I mean, just read his Beyond 2 Souls review and you can feel the anger that Jim feels toward Cage.

David Cage makes college student quality films, not games. The graphics might go up but the gameplay will be practically nonexistent.
