Dark Souls PC petition gets Namco Bandai's attention

Mighty fine job herms though I'm no huge fan of this game, grats, you may find it on your system soon.

I guess i'ts okay since console gamers should be getting Diablo 3 so it's all good.

Thoughts ?

Has more than 65,000 signatures in seven days

An online petition campaigning for a PC version of Dark Souls has caused enough commotion to be noticed by publisher Namco Bandai.

Last week's Dark Souls for PC petition skyrocketed from 7000 to over 65,000 signatures in seven days.

"Damn you are amazing!" wrote community manager Tony Shoupinou on the Namco Bandai forum.

"I honestly wasn't expecting such massive support. My boss(es) even came to talk to me about this after it exploded all around the world. If you wanted to have the attention of Namco Bandai Games, now you have it."

Shoupinou urged gamers to continue their campaign for Dark Souls on PC.

"The future is in your hands," he wrote, "and I hope you will keep supporting this. I will make a personal objective to make sure every relevant person at Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort."

Eurogamer has contacted Namco Bandai about Dark Souls on PC. We'll update if and when anything comes back

Indeed, that is why they dont buy a 199$ xbox 360 and play it there in the first place

So, a million signatures would mean about 100.000 actual sales

Witcher 2 was downloaded 4.000.000 times

So, by going with PC first, they missed 240.000.000$ in sales, that would have been profit if it was only on consoles

i would say half is a fairly conservative estimate.

not to say they lose half sales, because pirates are often not perspective buyers, but i guarantee over 50% of PC gamers will pirate it... and i would bet money on it.

PC gamers always want to be coddled by the game industry, without giving them any money.

I'm real interested in Dark Souls (if I get it it'll be for the PS3) but the support for the petition was fantastic, nice to see the power of the internet in action.fabz_95

but the question is how many of those will actually buy the game than just pirated it ?

I suppose if smeone really wanted the game would have got it by now on consoles, so i expect almost all those signaures to be downloads without actually paying for it

Hey FromSoft...get ready to feel the sting of piracy if you go through with it.

With torchlight 2 , Diablo 3 and guild wars 2 releasing anytime soon ( 6 months more or less ) i dont think ill have time for Dark souls. If majority wants it and actually buy it , why not. But would be sad to release on PC and sales flop in the end.AzatiS

The funny thing is you believe that 4 million download figure.

I don't think it will be released on the PC, however i do think that Next Souls game will be on PC, this is more like a survey to see how interested the community is in the game, then again, if the whole DLC stuff is true, then i can see them releasing something a la GOTY Edition for PC with the extra content.

If a Dark Souls petition had one million signatures it would sell several times that but the petition would never reach one million because that's absurd. Even petitions involving games made by Blizzard don't even reach the amount of signatures in the Dark Souls petition.

Right because hermits = pc gamers? Trust me hermits still don't give a flying **** about this game, because hermits are FANBOYS. Most pc gamers on the otherhand are open to any great games coming their way and dark souls is no exception, you can keep your real trash though.
