Dark Forces is a video game. Very old. Looks like shit, but had substance. In one of those "what if's" fans have remake levels in UE4, looking very, UE4.

This will be closed down and you can play a mediocre EA game instead. Lovely stuff.

Here's what Star Wars Dark Forces looks like remade in Unreal Engine 4

Adobe Wan Kenobi.

A developer from Obsidian is remaking Star Wars Dark Forces in Unreal Engine 4.

Jason Lewis - who works as a professional senior environment artist at Obsidian - has been working on this passion project for a few years now, starting out with plans to simply recreate A New Hope's Mos Eisley spaceport as a Dark Forces "art project". Now, however, the project has expanded to a fan-made recreation of Dark Forces, complete with a newly released playable work-in-progress demo.

f you're too young to remember it the first time around (i.e. you're not as old as I am), Star Wars: Dark Forces was a 1995 first-person shooter developed by Lucasarts. Sadly, this remake doesn't feature any shootable bad dudes, but you can experiment with the blaster, take a tour of the Millennium Falcon, and spend some quality time with R2-D2.

Download the project here before Disney makes it disappear," writes BlueDrake42 in their video description, who discovered the fan project. You can take a look for yourself at BlueDrake42's video below , or check out Lewis' astonishing work on ArtStation.

With all the shit remasters we get, a full remake of Dark Forces would be amazing. Hell, just do the Jedi Knight's as well.

Looks better then EA/Dice's Star Wars Battlefront games. Why did the idiots at Disney give EA the full rights to the Star Wars game license?

It got worse. Disney actually defended EA after all the bullshit lol. They should have left the franchise as open-sourced, then we may have actually had some solid releases in the vein of Rogue Squadron or KoTOR.

Yeah it's pathetic that Disney tried to defend EA even though they are doing a poor job with the Star Wars games. And you're right, Disney should of made it open sourced and allow other companies besides EA to make Star Wars games.

Because EA likely promised them massive profits, but only if they gave them exclusive control.

I mean, this would have looked good 5 years ago, but it's a bit dated now. The guy in the video is orgasming over it, but we've already seen better with Batman: Arkham City on that engine.

Concept looks standard; nothing too crazy or even really impressive.

@uninspiredcup: Dark Forces was not my first FPS (I think that award goes to Wolfenstein 3D), but it was my first beloved FPS. To see someone giving it such an awesome service is very impressive and heart-warming, to say the least.

Ahhhh...Kyle, Jan, and the Moldy Crow. Those were the days. Punching dragons in the face on a Hutt ship.

@uninspiredcup: I started on Wolfenstein 3D. Point out exactly what is impressive about this UE4 demo. Bet you can't.

Lmao, you think 95 is when I was born? I was born in 85. 95 is not my age.

Answer my question.

I will say it's impressive that one guy probably made this, but the tech in itself is not impressive.
