Poll Current Generation HD Remakes and Collections, yay or nay? (20 votes)

Hell yes! Last gen games at 60fps with bells and whistles in convenient collections! 45%
WTF? Obvious cash grab is obvious, can't you get those on PC already? 55%

Ignore who the tweet is from and focus on the premise.

For me I think...it would have to be a franchise I really loved, let's say BioShock as an example; All 3 games complete with DLC(probably unlikely) in a convenient pack all suped up at a suitable price(also highly unlikely)....maybe...but that's all I can think of right now.

Discuss.

I would be tempted to pick up a collection of some of my favorite series if the improvements are noticeable and includes new things. Simply bumping up the resolution and FPS would not be enough, not so soon.

I'd pay to play RDR at 60 FPS and 1080p on PS4.

When he says "Remaster Far Cry 3" all i'm reading is "bring Far Cry 3 on consoles closer to the PC version", yeah console gamers would totally eat that up like TR.

I want HD remakes/ports of far older titles than PS3 games. Give me a Shenmue, Dino Crisis and RE Remake HD ports or remakes.

I'd pass on most of these collections, picking up ones that are some of my favorite games and get more done to them than just an upscale, or collections of games that I didn't check out this last gen.

No because these next gen systems should have had BC built in!

I don't see the point in that. They look great on last gen consoles. I mean it would have to look a lot better than the current release and I would still only pick tem up if I didn't already have the games in question.

I'm not to fussed about HD remakes and collections in general, but next week there is a huge exception to the rule when Tales Of Symphonia Chronicles is released.

Couldn't get 1080p 60fps last gen,so let's pay 60$ to have it now while you can grab it for 5$ on PC

And they say console gaming is cheap ?

On PC you just buy the game and enjoy it at highest settings. Or enjoy it at higher settings/higher resolution later on, with the same version you bought.

On console you get the low res, low fps version first, and then latter when new hardware becomes available, you buy the 'enhanced/HD/ultimate' version

See that's the clincher basically. But a part of me may dabble into at least collection. But I think price will determine if I even dabble at all.

I even revisit some really old games on PC and see what they look like now or play them at settings I never had done before. It's interesting to see. Sometimes it amazes me how well the games still look.

While on consoles, if I have say MGS2 and MGS2 HD I don't see why I would ever go back to the non-HD version.

I want to finish TLOU and see what all the fuss is about, but I can't when it runs so poorly. 60fps & 1080p, you say? I'd pay £30 for that...

This is why you always buy 3rd party titles on the PC. I already have 1080p versions of most of these games mentioned fully playable on my next-gen system.

I just wish all systems were set up to have the same ecosystem as PC. Sadly, I think the ecosystem stems from being an open platform with tons of competition.

The PC I built in 2010 has the ability to play every game ever made on the PC.

A PC I build 30 years from now should still have that ability.

Meanwhile, the 360 and PS3 got GTAV in September, and their successors can't play GTAV at all. If you want to play GTAV you've got to keep your old consoles around, and that just becomes a hassle after a while. Just imagine how many consoles one would have to own to have access to every console game ever created.

Depends on the games. If they're good enough and worth another playthrough then yeah.

Tomb Raider, no. But Bioshock, i would definitely pick that up.

But the Xbone version will still be 720p at 30 FPS. Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade.

Only The Last of Us. Never really cared about remakes, but The Last of Us is an exception.

I'd be stoked if Naughty Dog announced a 1080p UC Collector's Edition for the PS4.
