Current Gen Consoles Suck...Prices, Delays, Hacks and More.

It can truthfully be said i'm sick and tired of all the B.S. that comes with current gen consoles.

Their expensive games, their network issues, their mandatory game installs, limited hard drive space,

Hardware price range $300 to $400 for each of the 3 consoles before taxes.

New Game prices range from $50 to $60 before taxes.

Online Networks either getting maintenance, being hacked....and charging us $50 to $60 a year to endure it all.

I swear I really believe mobile gaming is the way to go these days, once you buy the tablet or phone, if you don't have it already, then just go to the app store or Google play store and most times you'll never pay more than like $12.99 for a game.

Ok not as graphically on par with PC or consoles but very close, and getting closer, and touch screen controls may not be as good as controllers or mouse & keyboard, but those are the only things you need tolerate.

Everything else works, they download in 5 minutes or less, are playable online via wi-fi, and the battery lasts 8 to 10 hours, and recharges in just over an hour, some tablets have expandable ram via micro sd slots, headphone jacks, gyroscopic controls.

It's a no brainer, i'm so done with current gen consoles, i'll be gaming on my tablet and my good ol PS2 from now on.

Price was the same last gen

Games went up a little bit,but still cost much less than they did before(80$ SNES games,anyone?)

It's been disappointing so far...but I do love the XB1 still because I use it for everything. And lolz @ mobile gaming....shit sucks

Yeah I know touch controls are not the greatest, but I also left out the huge amount of game delays, such as Uncharted 4, Witcher 3, Zelda Wii-U.

I'm disgusted by this thread, the TC and touch screen gaming as a whole.

Why do people continue to bitch about the price of games? Games were more expensive in the 16 bit Era than they are now. Hell, the consoles were too!!

While not as good as last gen just yet, I've been having a good time with this generation and I haven't played or even purchased all of the games I'd like to play just yet.

There's a lot to be done to make this gem awesome though. And step 1 is games.

This gen is just fine. I'm not going to throw a strop and play games in a tiny screen just because some games are delayed. Also you don't have to have games instantly wait for the reviews stop pre-ordering stuff which may be crap and let prices fall a bit, it doesn't take long.

But anyway... small screen gaming, nah, no way.

You nailed it.. what I been saying, that's why I still don't have any of this gen consoles yet. maybe someday maybe never. although I'm truly happy with my PS3 and yes PS2... also I will just play PC or Facebook games.

I been satisfied with my Xbox One/PS4/Wii U so far and I ain't got no worries. Bloodborne, Bayonetta 2, and MCC were good exclusive games so far.

Maybe for playstation but not for Xbox, an xbox one cost 450 at launch over here the 360, with HDD, was only 280 quid at launch, 160 quid for the arcade model and games where 10 quid cheaper last gen unless it was COD,50-55 quid this gen.

i suppose it depends where you are really because 280 quid still works out at over 500 dollars.

in the UK we are the most protected consumers on the planet until it comes to Pricing,lol

Ya I'm sick of this shit too but I'm a far cry from putting any of those junk app games on my phone. **** that, nothing goes on my phone. Other then phone essentials, which do not send off information too companies other then my ISP provider. At least with them to access my shit you'd need a warrant. Not the case with with everything else.

If your the guy who asked the pc section for advice and went and got the alienware alpha even when advised not too, I don't really feel bad for you. When you ask for advice and the resounding answer from everyone is don't buy that shit it's a waste of money and not worth your time believe them. It's not hard to have a top notch gaming experience with little hiccups, for a decent price if you simply listen to those who know how.

Age might be a factor. Someone who doesn't remember 79-99 dollar SNES/Genesis games most likely wasn't old enough (or alive) to experience them.

Sure there's been times my PS4 has been collecting dust (Summer 2014) but other than that I have been playing games frequently on it.

Also I have my steam/pc library of new and old games that keeps me occupied most of the time.
IMO PC gaming never really has any "droughts" and is something I'd call "every gen" or "no gen" and that is why it always is gonna win :)

Good monitors have a higher FoV than "teh big HDTV" and consoles. By this I mean there is more of the game in your field of view.

Translation: This is the only way I can counter playing on a itty bitty screen.

A smart person would just say GPUs have HDMI ports so you can use an HDTV......OR......that there are monitors of 32 inches in size.

I have $15 google play bucks doing absolutely nothing because there are no good games on mobile.

Meanwhile I spent less than $15 on Tomb Raider, Dishonored, and The Witcher 2 for my new PC, all the previous games I've missed the last few years are not only available to be played, they can be purchased at a large discount. Mobile gaming can't touch the quality available. Plus I'd rather shell out $400 for a console than waste my time with never ending freemium games and shallow mobile games.
