CryEngine brings a huge beat down to KZ SF

Graphics are fine at first, and KZSF has a tiny edge in very small places, but RYSE look like a damn movie, it's graphics are almost CGI like.

The bland bore fest is tired, it is time to RYSE.

Its true, there is something about the visual quality of Ryse that makes it look very cinematic, like a movie. KZ has great graphics no doubt but its the way that the picture comes together in Ryse that gives it the advantage.

Because Launch Trailers aren't touched up or anything...

BTW - there's a REASON RYSE looks like a movie.

Ryse is the prettier game, but the intellectual dishonesty betrays any discussion that could be had. Why not post gameplay footage of Ryse and compare it to gameplay footage of Killzone? Or, why not compare scripted events directly with scripted events? It's like showing gameplay of Forza Horizon while showing replay footage of Gran Turismo 6 and using it to suggest GT6 looks better.

Im not just speaking from that video, I've been watching Ryse footage since it was announced. Even the actual gameplay has a certain look to it. Crytek has done very well optimizing their engine to run that well on an X1.

This is also good for the future because they now have experience coding on the X1, the next Crytek game will look so much better.

Its a Crytek game, post Crysis. We all know what it will be like.

Im always something new. On some websites im a lem, others im a hermit, sometimes im a cow. Whatever man, I said one nice thing about the graphics and you got insecure it seems. I own and enjoy all consoles, I just think Ryse has the best graphics between console games. And have you seen Ryse gameplay recently? its changed a lot since E3.

It has nothing to me, it is just homefront with a new engine.

Crytek games look great, but Killzone is no slouch. They both look pretty good for launch games, guess it's too hard for people to give credit to both.

I never dissed KZSF's graphics, it still looks very generic like any game before though, but visually, it is nice.

Ryse was destined to be the best looking launch title, it's made by Crytek after all...

Only the Sony fanboys in here are bashing games, most of us talking about Ryse never shit on KZ.

The last shooter to change anything for me was the original Crysis, and maybe Far Cry.

Call of Duty 4 gave us a great multiplayer.

C2 and C3 are just decent. I wouldn't say "shite" or actually bad. They are perfectly functional shooters, that use the unique nano suit to create interesting gameplay. Story is meh, online is decent, gameplay is good. Thats Crysis 2/3 imo.

Ryse "looks like movie" because that's exactly what a pre-rendered cutscene is.

The trailer for KZ did not look pre-rendered but I could be wrong.

Same can be said for KZSF trailer.

There isn't more than 3 seconds of "gameplay" in that whole Ryse trailer (even if the whole gameplay is QTE, not much more than pre-rendered cutscenes anyway)

Functional does not =/= fun I know they scored well. But I found them hard to play and have fun with. I tried really hard.

Why are so many of you hating on Crytek? You clearly didn't play the original Far Cry (PC only, not that Far Cry Insticts bullshit that came out on consoles) or Crysis which were revolutionary in terms of gameplay and graphics. Sure Crysis 2 wasnt nearly as revolutionary as it's predecessors but it was still a great game that received great reviews. The only "bad" game they made was Crysis 3, although it wasn't necessarily bad in my opinion, just really should have been called Crysis 2.5 or come out as some sort of expansion.

I like FPS shooters, just the usual COD ones.... no.

I bought Crysis 2, played 40 hours of it, but just fealt rather shallow and restricted, Crysis, and Warhead were miles better.

Well that's what happens when you have to "consolize" a franchise designed for PC's. You have to compromise the open world approach to compensate for their limited processing power and VRAM. It's the only way to maintain a certain minimum level of graphical quality and fidelity. It's a zero sum game with consoles.

Crytek went for the console money with Crysis 2 and 3. Not sure if it was worth it to gut the open world feel of the franchise, but yea.

I was watching heaps of vids on this last night, the seems to have an incredibly high level of production.
