thank you intel

Isn't Haswell just a 10% improvement over Ivy Bridge. SAGE_OF_FIRENo way to know until they are released.

Still significantly ahead of the PS4 :P :cool:

Nuh uh. It's teh power of teh Haswell and 16GB DDR3 + 4GB GDDR5! :P
Intel extensions only works with Intel Haswell IGP.Intel InstantAccess is similar to AMD's zero copy function on it's APUs. PS4's AMD APU also has zero copy functions.

Not saying much...upgrade you pauper.
Yeah was gonna say, maybe people should actually watch the video, they're talking about the new integrated graphics not the power of the actual CPU's themselves.Uh, not only is this standard marketing bullsh*t, it's standard marketing bullsh*t for Intel's on-die GPUs. Nice if you're trying to run Rome 2 on a laptop or super cheap desktop and all, but totally irrelevant in terms of proper PC gaming rigs.Â
Slow_Show
so when are these new CPUs coming out then and will they make much difference compared to what's on the market right now?
Note that Intel Haswell is an "APU".so when are these new CPUs coming out then and will they make much difference compared to what's on the market right now?

I hope they're optimising better these days, not impressed that empire total war is only using 1 core of my cpu...
$1000+ PC already irrelevant. About 2 generations obsolete.Mr_BillGates
I love it when people like you mention the $1000+ PC and make sound like a bad thing. Most of you don't realise that some people easily afford a $1000+ PC every couple of years so I don't know what the problem is. Sure you can get a console and last an entire generation but why bother when most PC gamers afford the $1000 dollar price tag
Cool to see Creative Assembly pushing the envelope forwards and providing newer hardware with things to do. They also appear to be creating an engine that can scale down to intel APU's. Which is pretty impressive.

PS4 is already irrelevant, it seems.

Also, at 1:40... is that Patrick Stewart?!

There are other options for Mac cards. It's just an EFI firmware. Sapphire has a 7950 available as well.

That GTX 680 is going to be $200+ overpriced by the time you can actually purchase it.
More like $150, judging from the aforementioned 7950, but such is the nature of not using the most common platform. I merely pointed it out because adam's assertion was wrong. My assertion was not that modern GPU's arent available on MAC. I was pointing out that they are overpriced compared to what you get on pc ( since that known apple fanboy that lurks here he always goes "pc's are overpriced ) .
Nice to know Rome 2 will run well on Haswell powered laptops. Makes no difference to me, I'll be playing it on my desktop.
As for the 'APU' thing. AMD and Intel would both like to see the death of the dedicated graphics adaptor and get back to way it was pre 3d days. Eventually they may get there and we'll see a merger of Intel and Nvidia. However CPU's with the ability to do graphics like a high end dedicated card are still a long way off.

the only think obsolete are those $2000 non upgradeable Apples. Oh wait you can upgrade but you need to spend $400 for a 3 year old gtx570. Thank you Apple for the huge choices[QUOTE="adamosmaki"][QUOTE="Mr_BillGates"]

Well, he was only half wrong then. More modern GPU available, but still overpriced.

I guess it's for mac pros too, doubt that would fit in an imac which is what most mac users own.Lol, any dual core CPU made since 2008 will serve you well even today unless you are hardcore. Magescrew

That's not true, and I'm talking from experience. My old E8400 isn't going to do well with the games today and the future.
