Who wants Crackdown 2 ?

Me, me, me, me, me ! :D

crackdown.jpg

Speaking to VG247 at Develop, Realtime Worlds has offered a God-sent glimmer of hope that we may yet see a sequel to free-roaming future cop blockbuster Crackdown, one of the most-loved Xbox 360 games. That's the spirit.

"It was a horrible, horrible decision that we still dwell on," said studio boss Colin Macdonald of the choice not to move ahead straight onto a second game.

"But I don't think the door's closed. Obviously, right now we're tied up with APB and everything else, but hopefully in the future we'll have the resource and something can be worked out with Microsoft."

Good gravy. There are a great many people in the world that would dearly love to see that happen, we said.

"Including 200 people in Dundee," Macdonald added. "We would have loved to have seen it. We poured five years of our lives into that game. You know, we've got guys on the development team that have Crackdown tattoos, permanent tattoos on their arms. We're extremely passionate about it.

"But at the end of the day we're a company that has to do what's best for the company. We've got to stay in business. And the numbers just didn't add up. We're not in the business of doing things because we'd like to, if we can't guarantee that it makes sense for the company. That doesn't work."

Microsoft: please, please, sort this out. Please. We didn't get level four hand grenades for nothing, you know.

First time I played crackdown I thought it was lame

Picked it up 6 months later and though I really need to give this game a second chance. Played it all week. The game is awesome.

I'd like to see the driving elements tweaked a little though.

I think Crackdown was their first but some of the team came from DMA and Rockstar I believe.

I was sold on the game the first time I threw a car at my friend and hit him as he was leaping between rooftops. Crackdown was a blast in co-op.

Crackdown was actually pretty fun. With some inmprovements a sequel would be crazzy awsome. Although, with how fast you can make your agent I wouldn't complain if they just got rid of the vehicles. I hardly ever used them.

Crackdown was an awesome game. I'm really surprised to hear that Crackdown 2 was not already being developed!

What in the world is the APB stand for in this other game they're working on?

Maybe they should sell the license to somebody else who is more committed to making a second Crackdown?

the game kinda lacked replay value. co-op is fun tho

Sweet. I hope they take out the random cussing by the pedestrians and try to get it rated T. This a game that really didn't use the M rating well and a T rated sandbox game would be nice. The first one was awesome.

I hope they make a sequel. Crackdown and Mass Effect have been my favorite 360 games so far. I enjoyed Crackdown way more than GTA IV. Not to say it was a better game, just more fun imo. If they added some more variety in enemies and powers it would be awesome. I hope they make it. APB sounds promising, but I want Crackdown 2.

Now this could be a sequal worth buying. The original was great but lacked a few elements that could have made it a classic.

Crackdown was horribly underrated thanks to Halo 3 Beta. It was a solid 8.5 IMO.

I will forgive them for not making crackdown 2 right away if they make APB for the PS3!

Count me in on dying for a Crackdown sequel. That game had an amazing engine and was soooooo much fun. If they up the storytelling that game will rule.

If they could just add some more storyline, and perhaps some more relivent side quests the sequal would be amazing.

What are you talking about? Were it not for the beta the game would have surely been a sleeper.
