Like other Rare made games (Donkey Kong) I'd say Goldeneye still belongs to Nintendo. The exception to that rule is the Banjo-Kazooie license.
Plus, the Bond license went to EA in 1999, then to Activision later, so I'd say Rare has very little ability to use the game, despite making it.
Last I heard, Reggie said Nintendo was looking to port it to the Wii VC, so I imagine you'll see it there rather on XBL.
If anybody owns it Activision Blizzard does because they own the Bond License now it used to belong to EA, even though Rare made the game they don't have the rights, and Nintendo might have some say as Publisher.
I used Activision Blizzard instead of Activision even though the Merger didn't go though just incase it does go through they will be making a James Bond game next year it was already announced.

NO. Nintendo has rights to it as well.
It's not as good as you remember it anyways.
and the Bond license went to Activision some time this year and next Year Activision Blizzard are making there first Bond Game, and the reason Donkey Kong remained with Nintedno was because Nintendo owned the Franchise before Nintedno let Rare make "Donkey Kong Country" though "Donkey Kong 64" but all of Rare's other franchises belong to Rare.Like other Rare made games (Donkey Kong) I'd say Goldeneye still belongs to Nintendo. I would Shat myself if that happened. Imagine Golden Eye Xbox Live Multiplayer? black_awpN1
I can imagine it, and as much as I'd hate to say it, it would be mediocre. Too many better games have been made since then, even by the creator's of Goldeneye.
Ever try Timesplitters? If you did and didn't like it, oh well, it was an improvement, and it's not the only game.

The license has been passed around a lot, that's for sure.
Seems developers don't understand Rare made it good, not the Bond franchise.

Absolutely, Goldeneye was a favorite of mine. But I think it's best in my memories. With this type of game it would just hurt it to go back. There is so much better now.
