Hahahaha..... sorry mate... most of your post i agree with.... however that is utter nonsense. A thing of the past... righto :)

99.9% of issues are solved by installing the latest drivers, which as a PC gamer you should be doing anyways. Hardware incompatibilities haven't been an issue since the mid 2000s. When was the last time you plugged in a GPU and couldn't just install the drivers and have them work right away?

It was a much bigger problem before the internet. Getting the latest drivers/frimware was kind of a nightmare. Now everybody has multiple devices that can connect to the internet and downloading and installing the latest stuff is usually no big deal.

@Wasdie: PC games cost $60 too. Both console and PC games go on sale fairly quickly though so you don't really have to pay that much unless you really can't wait or just want to support the developer. As for games, they are coming, and in droves. The fall lineup is looking amazing and I don't know how I'll have time to even play those, let alone "10,000". Also, because of the console push for indies we'll be getting plenty of those too. I understand you like having such a huge backlog of games to play from previous generations, which is great. I've played pretty much what I've wanted to from those generations and am excited for what's to come.

Some PC games cost $60, usually the AAA multiplats. However most new exclusive PC games cost under $50. Often, if you shop around, you can find games for well under $60 at launch too. I got Rage for $40 on launch. There is just far more competition on the PC.

Aside from a very tiny handful of exclusives on the consoles, the vast majority of the big games this fall are coming to the PC. Furthemore the PC has dozens of its own exclusives that you can't ignore.

I'm not talking about having time to play all 10k, I'm just saying that you'll never run out of games to play on the PC. Most console games, and newer games for that matter, lack length or replayability. Once you beat them you either have to replay the same stuff you just did or hope another comes along soon. I have a PS4, the lineup is pretty darn thin for this year. You would have to have a PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U to really have a full lineup and at that point you've spent quite a bit of money.

Thats nice i will remember this next time i wanna use MS word i will just use my console . A $700pc trumps consoles in both usability and performance let alone there are more games on pc and they cost cheaper not even gonna mention BC compatibility and that niche think call mods gave us games like counter strike and Dota ( you know niche games that are among st the most played games and not just on pc )

PC is the only platform , that have real exclusives from 3rd party studios . And they make games for PC as design choice , instead of being paid by Sony or M$ .

So Sony and MS payed Rockstart to let RDR on consoles.?

And even if my PC would be like 10 years old, at least I could play the games with lower setting if I want to, not being forced to by a new system. Try to run your UC4 on a PS2.

Try to run Crysis 3 on a 7800GTX a $500 dollars 2005 card can't run a 2013 game which is less than 8 years since Crysis 3 came in early 2013 the 7800GTX in summer 2005,so basically a 7+ years GPU that was $500 can't play that game even on low.

So yeah 10 years is even worse,a 10 year old GPU will not play current games games on low,you are talking about a X800 or sh** like that.

Hell watchdogs require a 5770 minimum or a 460GTX many GPU below that are not 10 years old or close.

This will give you something to think about,Watch Dogs running on PS3,can you find me a video of Watch Dogs running on a 8800GTX.?

Which is a 2006 GPU way stronger than the PS3.?

I am sure that if the PS3 run that game,a PC with a 8800TGX should be able to run it even batter, but since the game is DX11 only, yeah that goes compatibility flying out of the window,so no you can't play all games on 10 year old PC,you can even do that on 7 year old hardware.

Well ps360 runs newer games with much worse graphics than the lowest pc settings at 24-30fps. When looking strictly at performance, the 8800 gtx smokes ps360 but as always some pc games moved ahead and utilises newer technologies while the consoles get a dumbed down version of that game. So I guess in some way consoles have better compatibility, if you like dumbed down versions. BF3 and BF4 are great examples of this, the ps3 is to weak to play run the games properly and they had to be severely dumbed down with fewer players (24vs64), smaller maps and worse graphics just to run at somewhat stable 30fps.
Watch dogs could run on dx10 hardware if ubisoft wanted it to. And Crysis 3 now works on dx10 hardware, maybe there will be an unofficial fix for WD as well.
The same thing could very well happen in the future, dx12 could become mandatory for some games while the ps4/xbone will get a gimped version.

The same thing could very well happen in the future, dx12 could become mandatory for some games while the ps4/xbone will get a gimped version.

The fact still remains that WD is a cross gen port with added textures and lighting. In no way is the PS3/360 version 'gimped'. All assets are the same on PC/PS4/PS3/360/XB1. Gameplay is also the exact same. just like all these PC games. Also, DX12 is not even as advanced as PS4's API yet. PS4's API is able to get the full use of the GCN technology. You will find that DX12 will start rejecting new tech in GPU's that come in future, therefore will require a DX update to add varied support.

I never said that WD was gimped on the ps3 but some games are. The same thing could very well happen again in the future as I said. By the time dx12 is pretty common among pc gamers, maybe 4-5 years from now, the ps4/xbone will be so far behind (they are already behind) that they will run games on lower than the lowest pc settings and some more compromises might have to be made, like fewer players/nps, smaller environments etc. But since those games aren't running on any dx11 hardware on pc, some console fanboys will use them as examples of console compatibility. Which is actually better in some cases and worse in others.
And I wouldn't be surprised if someone made a fix to run WD on dx10 hardware, it happened with Crysis 3, sure it took couple of months.

you mad because I don't like pc? The pc environment will never be as straight forward and stress free as console gaming. You connect a pc to a TV but you still have to deal with keyboard and mouse when all you want is to play a game.

Unique genres? Like if a gave a **** about football manager, don't even like sports unless we are talking about bodyboarding. I have my niche though, and most if not all of them aren't on PC. An example would be, Persona. Not on PC bro.

Community? Not a big online fan and even then console have a pretty decent community with certain games. Street Fighter IV is bigger consoles, it sold most on consoles, is more played on consoles.

Power? That will not make PC be able to play Uncharted 4 or a turd like Crysis be more fun.

Customizability? Do you really think we care about that when we go to consoles for our gaming fix?

As you can see, PC is not superior at anything, it's all opinions. You like Steam's shit and I like Sony's shit more.

The only person missing out in the end is you. You're the one who's getting a far inferior gaming experience in the long run because you're too stubborn to get a PC. You can disagree, in fact I expect you to, but that doesn't change the fact that while me and other PC gamers are playing far more games across many more genres for cheaper, you're the only one missing out.

Sony's offering is completely lackluster to what a PC offers. If you're a person who enjoys video games enough to actively post on video game message boards on the internet about them, then you're only limiting yourself access to thousands of unique games and many other benefits to a PC. If you've never tried PC gaming in any real capacity (playing a game or two on a friends PC is not the same) then you just have ignorant prejudices against the objectively superior platform.

It's really up to you if you want to keep denying yourself options and fun and sticking with just one or two consoles for all of your gaming wants. Consoles and handhelds are great compliments to PC gaming, but never a good replacement.

1) I literally turn my PC on and play a game. This isn't 1995 bud. Move on.

2) Ya ok. Football manager. Not all the exclusive RTS's and MOBA's that are undeniably the pinnacle of esports.

3) Street Fighter IV is bigger on consoles? Wow that's cool. What about the million dollar prize pools associated with DOTA 2, the insanely talented modding community surrounding games like Skyrim and GTA and the total absence of 12 year old kids calling me racial slurs online.

4) Here we go again. Talking about an "in engine" cutscene. You cows really have no games...

5) No. Sure. You don't care about customizability. But that's your loss. You can't deny that having something more customizable is better. If I'm a serious gamer, I want something more than what the guy who got his Xbox for Christmas and only plays COD experiences.

Sure, you can like console more because of reason x. However, don't try to justify that PC isn't factually a better experience. It just doesn't work. You end up spewing bullshit points that just make you sound borderline insane.

1) In the short run? Perhaps. In the long run? No. $60 standard for new games, mandatory $50-60 a year for multiplayer, and little to no backlog (little to no backwards compatibility), means you're stuck with a limited library of expensive games. That adds up fast. I once calculated the amount of money I saved using Steam alone and I came up with roughly $2000 of savings over a few years. So you are wrong there, end of story. I can play literally 10,000+ games on my PC. How many can you play on the PS4 or Xbox One? Yeah that's a bad argument.

1. $60 standard for new games is standard for new AAA titles regardless of platform, they drop quicker on PC but they still drop on consoles as well, they might not drop as much but I'm willing to pay 5$ extra and wait 2 months for a hard copy that I actually own and if I sell it well I just made my money back on top of the option of buying it used. I've actually made money on games where I bought it used and sold it for more latter.

Steam needs a lesson in QA and QC you can play literally 10,000+ games on your PC but 9,000 aren't worth the time of day not to mention you don't need a gaming PC to play the vast majority of those, not to mention DRM BS is all but nonexistent on consoles.

@Wasdie said:

2) This isn't 2001 anymore. Even the most unoptimized games are usually completely playable. Driver issue and hardware incompatibilities are basically a thing of the past. It's not 100% plug and play but it's damn near close.

3) Again, this isn't 2001 anymore. If you can afford video games you probably live in a nation with a pretty stable internet connection. This is a non-issue at this point. The consoles too suffer greatly from not having internet. Xbox Live and PS+ are basically required to get the most out of the consoles. You're getting less than half of the experience if you don't pay and keep the consoles online all of the time. Get with the times. We're connected now. Even mobile systems are connected.

4) Steam sales, Origin sales, Amazon DD sales, and Good Ol' Games trump anything the console marketplaces have ever done. Period. Why? There is zero competition on a console. When you buy one you are forced into their controlled ecosystem where they have the final say of prices. PS+ also costs yearly while all of the aforementioned services have no fees to use.

5) CoD? On PC. Watch_Dogs? On PC. Assassin's Creed? On PC. Battlefield? On PC. Mass Effect? On PC. Wolfenstein The New Order? On PC. Even GTA 5 is moving to the PC. There are very few "industry driving" games that aren't one the PC (and the big ones almost always end up on the PC). The biggest games in the world are either exclusive on the PC or started on the PC first (Minecraft, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Starcraft II).

All in all it doesn't sound like you know a damn thing about PC gaming given your opinions here.

Lastly I leave you something that you just can't do on the consoles...

http://www.gamersyde.com/thqstream_call_of_juarez_gunslinger_gameplay-ugtLvMiXe0HP5VIo_en.html

Call of Juarez at 1080p60 (originally recorded at 1440p60) on my PC.

Consoles don't trump the PC. The only person you are hurting with that mentality is yourself. If you're a gamer you'll end up owning a PC. Simple as that.

2. I wouldn't say so your always going to have issues when designing something for multiple hardware specs, if you're running a beast of a machine you might not notice it as much but most people aren't.

3. Yeah come to Canada where we have ridiculous data caps (39.99 for 20Gigs) and see if it's a non issue.

4. You make it sound as if you always have to pay full price for console games.... wait a few months to a year and you can buy just about any game for 19.99 new on amazon and that's in Canada I also have the option to buy used and resell.

5. Do you really think COD sells better on the PC, and if not do you think there's a reason for it? I'm also not even going to dignify your comment with a thought out response that only gamers game on PC if that was the case your website along with most others wouldn't be console focused and E3 wouldn't be console focused either.

And finally, console and console games are what typically drive the industry. When do most developers start shifting gears on new game development? Around console cycles, not PC. And with the success of PS4, and to some extent X1, you will have developers focusing on consoles first. I mean, look at what happened with Watch_Dogs. It'll be the same thing with other games as well. I bet Grand Theft Auto 5 will be very similar between PC and next gen consoles.

Please find sources.

Because I have sources stating the opposite:

http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/pc-games-have-surpassed-console-games-globally/033849

That source doesn't state anything. PC gaming isn't what it used to be back in 2001, it's filled with crappy indie games on steam that barley work or farmville games on face book, not to mention it could and most like be considering all sources of computer type games like app phone games. Not that you personally help drive anything Jankarcop except confirm PC gamers are piraters.

Consoles fuel AAA type games if they didn't Gamestop would of gone under long ago and 1/3-1/2 of the electronics department at stores like Walmart wouldn't be dedicated to Console games.

Sure I guess you could say they have a "PC section" as well if you could even call it a section anymore, it's tucked away in a little corner like the porn section at those old movie stores where you only ever catch a glimpse of a shadowy-figure of a creepy guy too embarrassed to come out until everyone's gone.
